So reading the new job adjustments is this going to be a nerf to all crit hit ws now? These kinds of updates always work across the board, mobs and players.

Indirect nerf to smn burns too, not that anyone did them anymore but being unable to delevel a sync mule.

err no, it means it will take the monsters vit into account when calculating how much your WS does.
So it possibly won't do nearly as much as it does now if its a crit ws. Mnk emp WS could of gotten a big nerf.

the word monster wasnt included in the statement, it may mean something along the lines of how AGI affected subtle blow in the last update. maybe jobs that have decent vit will get better critical hit damage? i would wait and see what a community rep does to clarify, as it is a kind of vague statement.

Sounds like a pld buff to make them better tanks, and most likely if its applied to mobs it wont matter because it will be player dex vs mob vit to determine the dmg.

The word player wasn't included, either. The majority of the game mechanics go across the board anyways, so there's no reasonable expectation of getting something as players and monsters not getting it as well.

I agree - this is a minor PLD buff. Hopefully this means they are paying some attention to the reduced importance of tanks (PLD in particular) and are looking for creative ways to bring them back into relevance without having to completely rewrite emnity.

I really hope they continue this trend. I have PLD sitting at 90 and can't be bothered to pursue Emp upgrades - mostly because of all the chatter on this board about PLD being lolPLD.

Atmas seem intended to be somewhat broken inside Abyssea. That's part of what makes it fun.

Razed Ruins is limited to Abyssea, but guess what is not? This VIT adjustment. Jobs that rely upon Critical Hit JAs and Weaponskills just got nerfed everywhere.

If this does lower all crit based dmg by players NIN's and specially THF's dmg is going to take a huge drop inside and outside abyssea.

It is still stupid to change crit WSes in the entire game to deal with a problem that exists only in abyssea. Why the heck not just nerf Razed Ruin if crit WSes are too strong in there?

Make it only increase crit rate, not crit damage, for example.

Finally dude says something I couldnt agree more with. Wait and see before jumping the OMG NERF bandwagon. Assumption = bad.

If it does turn out to be a crit nerf it's possible (although minor) that a big uproar about it before the fact could lead to a rethink. If it turns out not to be the case there should be a post from a rep today saying so.
