I read that you can also use windower and mods etc, I don't know much about that though.

I've been playing pretty much exclusively on the steam deck, it's pretty good.
...except when Mireu pops.

Menu > config > Effects:
Turn them all on, except for the top one which you can remain at off.
If you do that in domain invasion it will fix the lag problem, turn them back off after.

Steam deck sounds great, until you try to chat with someone....

It hasn't come up yet.
It is a little annoying to have the onscreen keyboard cover everything up and not show you what you're typing. Although I did buy a wireless keyboard for $25 that I can just plug in whenever I need it and it works. But so far I've only used it to make some macros.

Square should put on the website that it's been authorized to work on steamdeck.

Right after they update the rest of the overall site.

Doesn't need updating, it works perfectly fine.

They wouldn't add info like that because the steam deck isn't a new platform. It's a handheld PC with a controller built in.

Nothing new about FFXI running on Linux via Wine since at least around 2008 or so... but yeah, it would be kind of weird for them to mention something like that.

Put a "playable on Steamdeck" on the XI website.
