Thread Title:
Attempting Salvage results in Could not connect to server, even when no-one is around.

Operating System: Windows 10
ISP: Shaw
Type of Internet Connection: Cable
Internet Connection Speed: Gigabit
Date & Time: 3:10 AM PST
Frequency: Sometimes
Character Name: Jacetms
Race: Mithra
World: Asura
Main Job: SMN 99
Support Job: RDM
Area and Coordinates: Alzadaal Undersea Ruins (H-8)
Party or Solo: Solo
NPC Name: Guilded Gateway
Monster Name: None

Steps:
When trying to connect & access Salvage, I wait 30 seconds and get error message
Could not connect to server.
It happens quite frequently and sometimes even when there's no-one around. I assume it's a server congestion thing (Since I guess you're spinning up an instance or something?) but it happens so often, and if there are bots in the area it can take ages to get in.

Since you're on Asura, it could just be unseen bots not standing next to you spamming entry packets and creating that result for you. Rather unfortunate.

It's a result of bots, unfortunately.

Right, hence the bug report. If it had a ticket system like Ambuscade it wouldn't be a problem.

This is not a bug. The system is working as intended to keep the game running correctly.
If you want to argue that they should implement a queue or something, Yeah, I agree with you, but that's a feature that needs to be requested, not a bug to report. This thread will simply get moved to Working as Intended, because, well, it is.

There's also a workaround for this issue, and that's transfer servers.

It's not working as intended if bots are packet injecting and not allowing regular players to enter salvage at all, (for mythic quest i.e.). If through the main user interface I get stalled for 60 seconds before it let's me know "could not connect to server" and the next time I try it tells me to wait a while (because a packet-injecting bot got in) that's not functioning "as intended".

A drastic action such as "Transfering server" is not a realistic solution when my other characters and friends are on Asura.

If they choose to mark as "not a bug" so be it, but I disagree (Regular players can't play the game, this is a bug). My solution may be a feature request but maybe they have a different idea to "Fix the bug"

Well, more precisely, regular players sometimes can't play one area of one content because they're on Asura. But sure.
