When reporting to the STF you need to give a confirmation number or a report number so the report can be tracked and verified that it was received and investigated properly.
Enough lies, it's time for transparency. If you have nothing to hide then you need to provide a method of following up on a report that has been sent.

I want proof that you are receiving STF reports.

Been a minute since I bumped this.

As you answered in the AMA that people should report the bots to the STF, the STF needs to give confirmation that they are ACTUALLY receiving the reports.

Good idea, why didn't you put in the question?

Because they don't answer real questions. Check the answered questions vs the unanswered questions.

They answered plenty of real questions. Quite frankly, I'm surprised by how not terrible a lot of the quesitons were, and how many they actually did reply to.
As far as questions not answered, many were just duplicates or similar to questions that did recieve a response.
Regardless, I don't think they would tell people there to do it if they weren't getting reports, but I concede that it isn't actually proof, just an opinion. That's also a question I'm surprised they actually responded to.

So you think they just use a set of shills to ask fake questions? Are you really that crazy?

A reminder that I'm still looking for confirmation of received reports. I want the ability to verify your inability (non-interest, unwillingness) to follow through with bot reports.

They do not seem to be receiving them, I want confirmation numbers so that I can follow up with their lack of investigation.

Funny enough, in their most recent report [1], they say:
皆様からお寄せいただいた報告はすべて確認しております。
This could maybe be translated to something along the lines of "we have confirmed all the reports received from everyone" (may or may not be very accurate).
I can't imagine them ever becoming more transparent about this process, but some sort of confirmation definitely would be nice. Perhaps a kind of a ticket system which automatically sends a mail simply saying the report has been processed when someone acts on it.
Guess it would require one to log in on their SqEX account before reporting, since the EU support site is peculiarly the only one that asks for an e-mail address (maybe it was removed from the other sites but no one got to it on the EU side).

Even outside of STF, there's no need for them to be so secretive.
Take Overwatch, for example. If you report anyone, if any action is taken a pop up will appear randomly later when you log in to the game saying "someone you reported had action taken against their account.". It operates on a delay so you can't always be certain who got punished, but they tell you when reports result in actions. This doesn't violate anyone's privacy.

Not sure why you hijacked someone else's thread to ask this, but dealing with such things is not a simple matter. I'm not aware of any private servers actually collecting subscription fees. But if they do, then they're making money off SE's work and that's a rpetty open and shut case.
This really isn't the kind of channel to report this sort of thing though.

@special_task_force @gunisaka @zhexos @sicycre why are pirated private servers allow to still operate... on top of that why do you let them charge money. this is totally illegal. and it draws away from retail.
Do you think that if they somehow managed to get the private servers shut down, those players would come back to the official servers?

It might depend on their specific motivation to play on an illicit server. If they were specifically doing it to avoid paying sub fees, probably not.

Salutations!
We appreciate everyone's concern regarding the reporting process to the Special Task Force. However, while we can confirm that the Special Task Force team reviews all records that are received, we are unable to disclose the results of any specific investigations that are handled. We can assure you, though, that all reports are received and handled accordingly.
Given that this conversation seems to have run its course, the thread is being closed, but we do encourage everyone to continue to report suspicious activities, so we can continue to help make your experiences in Vana'diel as pleasant as possible!
