lots of snow here, great time for gaming matsui! Thanks for asking :D
As much as the extra space in Mog Wardrobes sounds appealing, all it does is leave a very sour taste in my mouth. Surely you have realized that by now the only thing FFXI offers is to repeat the same content on different jobs. While this isn't surprising with an MMO that runs as long as FFXI, nor does it have to be a bad thing, it does create a strong tie between how playable the game is and the amount of inventory space. Enough inventory space translates into people gearing new jobs (doing the same old content) and thus playing, while no inventory space translates into people repeating the same content with the same jobs; quite possibly leading to less time played and/or subscription cancellation. 15 years ago I would have called a huge chunk of extra inventory a "premium service" today I'd call it the lifeline of your game. After nearly twenty years, of which I've played a good 17, you dare to offer your loyal player base a "premium service" that is more or less required if you want to have even the slightest 'new' experience that playing a different job can give you. You are basically saying; this game is 20 years old, but if you (nearly) double your subscription cost, you'll have something to do still. I find this outrageous and disappointing. I'd expect half of the Mog Wardrobes to be free at the very least, like they were last time. Last but not least; I can't imagine what this'll mean for the loading times and lag, both of which have always been unacceptably bad for EU players, and both of which you've been unwilling to fix since the original release (It appears hard to fix the server upload cap; causing it to just not send half the information once we reach R3000).
Edit: Ninja edited 2 grammar mistakes.

Thank you for the extra wardrobes, I was so glad to see we received all 8 today as well as a huge improvement to accessing the equip menu when zoning.
I have managed to fully equip 9 jobs before this update without resorting to accessing mules as well as a fully decorated mog house, but have gladly paid for the extra wardrobes to allow much faster job changes and an empty inventory when playing certain jobs. The fact that your subscription has remained the same since 2002 despite 20 years of inflation is amazing and we are still getting new content to this day, I really have no issue paying for premium inventory space to help support the game further.

Had hoped you'd double the wardrobes, ie 4x free and 2x each for each additional £1 cost so people already paying for 3 & 4 would have eight now.
The inflation argument doesn't hold water at all, c'mon. Not only is the price of something set by the market, but ten years ago the game had a full development team, double the number of servers, etc. The overheads today are minor; likely enough the original investment, development and hardware costs have been repaid many times over.
I'm not complaining about paying the current basic sub level and a couple of extras. I want to support FFXI. Perhaps I'm in the minority though, when there are people paying for a dozen mules and a few subscriptions to multibox with.
edit: Oh, Voracious Resurgence was great fun again, thanks!
how you worded "recycle" before the update, is it just me or was i thinking you were adjusting the job trait? Not that i'm complaining lol, this new recycle bin system seems really nice, i'm sure it'll go a long way for players who accidently drop important gear and rema's instead of having to go through gm's

A minor nitpick but still annoying.
With the old inventory system you could press alt and right arrow to page down your inventory, now you have to press ctrl and right. Alt and right now changes bag, this is so cumbersome. It would of been far far better to have ctrl right as the key combination to change bag and alt and r to still page down.
Now you have to move your thumb into an annoying position to do the thing you'll be doing far more often, and the combination you'll be doing far far less is easier to reach.
Would be nice to have an option to swap this, I guess I'll get used to it but it's so annoying and cumbersome right now.

I’d have to second this - I sometimes find it funny when people didn’t know they could page up/down their inventory in the past, but for people like us who zoom through our menus with muscle memory, this is going to take some time to get used to the change of buttons! It’s a fantastic feature none-the-less.
Thank you very much for resolving the player-bases inventory issues! I’m not quite at the point of needing them, but I can easily see how valuable they are to the community here! Looking forward to future changes like this :)

Actually appreciated this update, but I hope (but not hold my breath) that the team may one day revisit the problem of loading times for inventory. This update brought an improvement on the user end and some optional additional storage for those who which to purchase it.
Thanks.

I appreciate the extra inventory but I have 2 comments:
i) I am disappointed you didnt take the route to have job-specific inventory that loads only when on that job. Would have been a more elegant solution, although I guess more difficult to monetize.
ii) the steep cost increase associated with the new wardrobes has caused several friends to quit in frustration. This is very bad for the game. Please reconsider your payment structure for the additional wardrobes. Your milking your most dedicated players dry.
edit: for the record, I cancelled 7 mules and spent hours moving stuff around so that I am paying the same as before (actually a dollar less). Maybe that's why I'm still around. Pro-rating the cost of the expanded inventory would go a long way to quell accusations that the delivery of expanded inventory was a cash grab. I like your game but I'd like to not feel like a sucker for being loyal and sticking around.

Also when I was reading the updates, changes & adds to the game's February's update to my twitch viewers as I came across and read up on the recycle bin feature even before jumping into the game mentioning to my viewers that I could see more on this feature's potential in other way's such as if your inventory is full and you have stackable items blocked but in-waiting in your treasure pool to be combining to those items you already in your inventory of your stackable items when you in a pinch of timing without really much time to go into opening up another storage unit/mog wardrobe/storage safe/etc. even on top of that all of those are full along with your inventory to block items from being received out of the treasure pool then you could simply do next is drop an item that would go into the recycling bin then next on those items finally be coming out of waiting in treasure pool would be going up into your inventory combining with their stackable already there then go back pulling the item out of the recycle♻Bin putting it back in your inventory too. {~[Rinse & Repeat]~"Rinse" out into it & "repeat" drop+grab items} I had a few or quite a few I saw potential that you could totally Utilize this to great usages that I have forgotten the other ways I could see this feature could be totally utilized in other ways for the moment but I will get back to those when I think of them again. I will probably have to at some point go through my ffxi February's updated stream to see what it was that I all said you could do and methods use this recycle bin could be used for as well. ;)
So Afin, Matsui & Yoji Fujito what do you think of my add-in to this post this far added to it and also to be saying that I'm really enjoying & liking the recycle bin thus far being a great feature of the crews + creators' hard-working at the game have come up thus far!
While this is still going to be that far futuristic ahead of us in Granted, I'm still wanting to do a post along with all the speculations on how they're furthering the i-lvl empyrean gears+2/+3/+?etc.. are going to be implemented into the upgrades of the ffxi gamings future without being sure yet as to doing this as a new threaded post or a write into one of the most commonly used written threads thus I'd write-in into it which it has been mentioned on what the furthering new upgrades are going to be done through Sheol-Gaol odyssey tier RP-NM within the same of the Nym gears drops are with even could be newly added NM's that could be even shael-gaol higher tiers 'I suppose' also along with that its been mentioned part of the reason they've added a new KI outside of both dyna-d & omen outside of having to fight in them in progressions in both i-lvl artifact & i-lvl relic gears that were added last update/2 updates ago will be playing a part in some how grabbing both them KI's combining them into the upgrade process with odyssey,....
.... The one concern it's been having is that if the i-lvl +2/+3-etceteraa upgrades arent being done through odyssey~{Shael-Gaol NM on a Nyame Gears level}~then they wont be able receive the 3-pages stats with as many stats the nym gears has which does also include an augmented page of stats on the nym gears too for those jobs gears supportive of what the job has along with additional other types of supporters to them too, even be interesting to see if the empyreans do end up in the final stages of an augmenting augmented page that maybe you can chose the route of augments you'd rather see into your augs of empy gears by I'm assuming way of odyssey foes for augs is the way of defeated Goal NM's too.
....Granted...I may of not be wanting to see it in happening myself but in speculation of being mentioned of others, The other side of it along with what I already mentioned is that they'll be putting the furthering of the newly i-lvl Empyrean gears being locked to the newly added Master Levels in leveling Master Level's in some of the same ways the SU gears worked out being at I suppose certain master levels reached you can equip your upgraded more i-lvl gears/empyrean to it while I can see the appeal to people who would state this something the ffxi creators & devs/worker crews on the game would totally do with the gears because of these gears being added in during the era's of level caps being broken into new grounds raised up/into current level caps being unlocked into newly added level caps into the ffxi game we were leveling up to be equipping these empy gears - I just don't know myself on that part of it yet to be seen/to be yet continued for future updates to come. Also noting both the Relic & Artifact gears also have the ability to add augments to them than what's already there whether that is more flippable pages to scroll through them all which is where the idea of empyrean gears is going to have an augmenting page of added stats comes into being mentioned in comparison to the dark gear of Nyame from odyssey along with other gears of that caliber from the odyssey battlefields, yes~myself~ I call them flappable stats pages but anyways. So now that I wrote everything on it before I forgot it all that I was going to write out on it already  where would a better suggestion or suggestive thread go into instead of having all of this written under? I could edit out into moving this part of it to wherever mentioned too I would guess as well, anyways.

I want the Valentine's day outfit but please make it available to purchase though a moogle, or make the quest gender locked so Male/Male and Female/Female can do it. Trying to get the opposite sex to do the quest is fustrating and some people who have male NPCs don't even lock the outfit.

ii) the steep cost increase associated with the new wardrobes has caused several friends to quit in frustration.Nobody said anyone had to buy them....
While I feel they should have at least added 1 more free space, the previously existing paid wardrobe services were shown to be instrumental to FFXI maintaining a solid bottom line
I won't be quitting in frustratin because I didn't use 3 & 4, thus I didn't need 5 6 7 8 either. And, as you pointed out, players who do need these were also probably using mules, and cancelling those can make up the cost of adding another wardrobe. IDK. I can understand the frustration, but I think this is a case of expectations set too high more than anything else.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't offer a discount for buying all of the paid for Wardrobes, to the point of the last one basically being free for buying all of the others. Or something along the lines. Oh well.

True, but current form of implementation has definitely left a bad taste a lot of peoples mouths. A (formerly impossible) change was anticipated for years only to finally materialize in the form of a (never-previously-mentioned) premium service which nearly doubles the monthly cost of the game. Many saw this as a fix rather than a perk, given that current end-game encourages gearing/mastering many jobs. I don't think its too high of an expectation to get an inventory fix without doubling monthly subscription price.

True, I mean {Reaally{ "I guess" all the costs to pay those working on this game could be told to work for free on this game and outsourcing costs we can't see ourselves that's going on could be put out to pasture in letting them just rise endlessly higher? I know the real gripe is that due to differences in each countries currencies the cost of the fee can be tremendously greater than another countries currency in paying the price in costs but it also can be said that in the opposite direction as well being that while the price cost may be significantly higher in some countries it would be greatly significantly far more cheaper in others compared to that countries currency forking over to paying the price that's been put up in only one countries currency listed price. {An Example}: Like USA currency it is is only $2buck's per MWDrobe while in another counties money to pay that $2~Dollars price becomes thousands of dollars higher than that $2's is being issued for the price on said purchasing item.

Congratulations. I cancelled the subscription of my 2nd account and will instead unlock one or two extra Mog Wardrobes in which I can put gear, allowing me to play more jobs in my main. A couple of others have done the same, or have canceled Mog Wardrobes on a 2nd account, so they could take them on their main account. If your goal was to milk your loyal players dry for some extra cash, it appears you have played yourself. Now if you were to fix the servers only sending us half the information once we reach R3000, causing everything with more than a couple of people and/or mobs to lag I'd happily pay double the subscription cost.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that some players will make concessions elsewhere to use these. I'm sure they accounted for that fact, but go on being smug about it. :p

After Crawler's Nest (S), please start adding apex mobs to areas affected by "Conquest Tally", visible on /regionmap.
Do a camp in each region that way it will be a lot easier to keep them out of the hands of beastmen.
Would have liked seeing maybe duplicate camps in Crawler's Nest & Crawler's Nest (S) with the (S) zone being 25 levels higher and for that to be the trend for all spots where that is possible.

Add some Apex monsters to Abyssea that are spread out, this will make it harder for bots to perma there due to needing time extensions.
Better for players that need to kill for a couple of hours to get some CP and that don't mind roaming around.

Wonderful job on the new storage space. Thank you very much for that. I was wondering if you could make it so you could obtain 2 rings at once from adoulin mission. for example I am trying to keep my orvail ring and get the weapon skill ring as well, which i use for fighting alot more, but i can only get one at a time. and i craft more than i fight, but i would like to be able to do both, more damage and better successrate and hq rate. is this at all possible? Also, the mandy mini game is awful at only being able to get a couple keys a day, whats even the point anymore. can you make it like 5 keys a week or 10 keys a week? this would be very greatly appreciated. also two last things. can you make it so we can do all trading of items like dullahan armor in adoulin at the same time for 3 points each option, to save a ton of time and just trade like 5 armor at once? this takes forever with 7 characters. and also can we get coalition serums at half the price, they are too expensive at what they are. Thanks a ton I understand this is not all related to the new update but I just didn't know where else to put it that anyone important would read it.

Please fix the constant inventory refresh. It is almost impossible to select temporary items and support items during intense gameplay.
For example, if you are using multiple sets in your equipmacro, and you get ready to use an echo drop, or remedy from an incoming attack, the inventory refreshes every time you switch gear and resets your cursor, so you have to re scroll to find the item you need.
Please look into this issue. It is not necessary for our equipment to reload everytime we change gear. This is an issue.

Greetings Mxsx,
We'd like to know more about the inventory refresh occurring on your end.
Could we ask you to submit a bug report (https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/forums/467) using the bug report template (https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/35051-Welcome-to-Forum-In-Game-Bugs%21?p=453663&viewfull=1#post453663), along with the following details?
By "refreshing," do you mean that the items are being re-organized or that your cursor position is being moved?
Does the refresh seem to occur as soon as you execute the macro with an equipment set/equip command, or while the equipment is being swapped?
Also, it'd be greatly appreciated if you could provide a video of the occurrence as well!

I'll be honest, I can't seem to reproduce the issue as described.
From what they're saying, it makes it sound as though the cursor position in the item list changes when a delayed equipset change takes place (you can't activate a macro while in any inventory screen or the item list from the "items" command during battle). I've tried many times to do this and nothing out of the ordinary seems to happen. I've never had to "re-scroll" to an item after a gear swap takes place, either by equipset or equip. But maybe I don't fully understand the issue, but it sounds like some external force could be causing your problem.
Hi.
You can reproduce it by going to Reisenjima and creating a Cure macro.
/ma "Cure III" <t>
/equipset 001 <wait .5>
/equipset 002 <wait .5>
/equipset 003
Then select a target, and enter your short menu. (Chat, Magic, Abilities, Trust, Items, Trade, Check).
Leave your cursor on "Items".
Execute the Macro.
Immediately enter the items menu (say you need a Lucid Elixir II, since you are running out of mp).
Before you can select the item, the inventory refreshes and refreshes your cursor, because of the 2nd set in the macro.
You now have to scramble to find the item again.
It is not the end of the world, but it could be quite critical on several fights (V20, HELMS, etc), where the entire party is relying on your ability to cure quickly and keep your MP up with Vile Elixirs, or temporary items.
RE:
By "refreshing," do you mean that the items are being re-organized or that your cursor position is being moved? - The cursor position is reset to the top.
Does the refresh seem to occur as soon as you execute the macro with an equipment set/equip command, or while the equipment is being swapped? - It occurs while the gear is swapping in the middle of the macro.
I will look into the bug report if other people are able to reproduce the issue. Maybe its just a me thing!

/equipset 001 <wait .5>Fractional values are rounded up, .5 is the same as 1. I used to do this myself but it became clear that there was actually no difference.
Execute the Macro.
Immediately enter the items menu (say you need a Lucid Elixir II, since you are running out of mp).
Before you can select the item, the inventory refreshes and refreshes your cursor, because of the 2nd set in the macro.I've done this many times- not specfically to cast cure, mind you, but it has never happened to me. That said, I only used normal items, not temporary items, for this. Perhaps you should check this to narrow it down.
The temporary item list is kind of special so it is likely an important distinction.

Yeah, you have to use a macro and then open the item window. With it already open, it shouldn't work at all.
