If you insist on doing this, I would recommend you make each submission its own self-contained report and not a submission filled with vague references to other submissions you've made. In all likelihood, there may be more than one person receiving these requests and they don't necessarily see your other submissions. In fact, I think if the info received is not clear enough, they likely do not even investigate.

Also, consider adjusting the tone of your submissions. They come off as quite negative. I know you are upset about the current state of the game, in terms of bots and automated tools, etc., and that is justifiable. However, the people receiving these requests are unlikely to be those with the power to make the large changes you want to see and more likely to be people just trying to do their assigned job. I know it's debatable whether or not they are actually still active or not, but you should give them the benefit of the doubt. By being so negative and accusatory you are simply giving them reasons to ignore or downplay your requests.

Something to the effect of the below might make your submissions more actionable:

Detail
- Times/dates observed: ___ ____ ____ ____
- Have confirmed these characters multiple times in the same area
- Multiple characters seem linked to an individual character and perform automated actions which do not resemble player-initiated actions
- Characters are active for hours at a time and appear to be automated or controlled by multiple people at once

See that's a secondary goal here. To get one of them to actually respond with what a "good" report will look like. what THEY specifically want to see. What magic buzzword I need to say or do to move the "investigation" FASTER.

When. Where. Who. is all already in the menu fields. That is more than sufficient and the "details" are entirely unnecessary for proper investigation. HOWEVER. If they feel otherwise, THEY need to affirm that.

There is no investigation required. If I said they're botting, they. are. botting. period. No discussion required. No chat logs required. No research required. No investigation required. I have done all the work for you.

Personally if I was this flustered about something like this as you seem to be, I would be moving on and cancelling my sub and finding something else to do with my time, rather than going on a holy crusade.

I don't need to know SE to know how this will be handled. They're a corporation. The answer is already obvious.

The employees sole job is to ban enough cheaters to make sure their bosses think they are overworked.
If they're too effective at their job, then it'll show on a quarterly report that there's room to cut funding to the department.
If they're not effective enough, then they'll be replaced by someone else.

You complaining here lets people higher up know they may need to increase funding, which means bean counters will do a risk assessment of players likelihood to quit the game with more cheaters vs more STF employees.
In a few months they'll have their next report regarding which will make the company more money and the answer will be to cut funding to the STF because rmt bots are playing customers who will virtually never quit playing, vs you the complainer who appears to be right at the cusp of quitting even if they hire more people.

As for solving your immediate issue directly; it never even occurred to them. You are posting in a way that can be seen as spam. Perfect excuse to ban you from the forum. Problem solved.

I mean, is it a crime to check the forum regularly and engage in what other people are talking about? The community is so quiet these days, you should be happy anyone is posting. I also disagree with you notion that I have a "loud mouth" (this is text, and posting a lot isn't anything like being a loudmouth), and I further disagree with your notion that I'm a white knight, because I'm anything but. I just don't like it when people feel over-entitled. I disagree with many of SE's rules and policies and updates and such, but I also respect them, because I'm not the one who made the rules.

For instance, in my opinion, if someone throws away a valuable item, to me, that's their own fault for not being more careful with their important things. I don't think SE is obligated to do anything about that, but more than a few times we've had overentitled players posting here demanding their item be restored for their lack of care and attention to what they were doing (or making the restore request outside of the officially stated 7 day window- I don't like the rules, but the rules are what they are). So in this situation, it's not that I don't want SE's support to be more helpful, and it's not th at I think SE is great and perfect. In this situation, it's that I think people have to live with the consequences of their actions.

Similarly, in regards to the topic of this thread, I'm not defending SE's inaction on botting at all, I think they absolutely don't do enough. I'm merely trying and apparently failing to communicate to the OP that posting a bunch of pics of him/her stalking botters on the forums is not going to move SE to do better. Really, only SE can do anything about this, threads like this one are useless.

I'm sorry that you feel I'm "SE's pet," I really don't know where you get that impression but it's simply not true. It's also not true that I "disagree with everything." I agree with lots of things- but usually if someone said something well and I agree with it, I just hit the "like" button and you won't see me say much/anything. So while I can see the perception that I must disagree with everything because that's what you see me post, the reality is, I'm simply not commenting as much on the threads I agree with because I'm just "like"ing them instead.

And I think those "many posters" need to realize that while feedback for SE is part of what these forums are for, a forum, including this one, is for discussion and chatter, not just "HEY SE, WE WANT THIS THING PLZ." Coming here and hoping for SE to respond to something is setting expectations too high, you and I both know that, they just don't respond to specific issues that much anymore. I agree that bots are a problem. I don't agree that this thread is the solution. I support reporting the bots, as the OP appears to be doing. I don't support plastering it all over the forum because it's unnecessary and, as I said, isn't likely to produce better results.

All I can figure is they think that no one actually reads the reports, so s/he feels the need to stick them in everyone's faces. But a staff member did respond and that should have been the end of it, since they were specifically told that this wasn't necessary.

You don't have any. They publicly post about banned RMT etc on a monthly basis.

Since I have filed a report that Don**** Sok** and Sal*** have been botting in the same camp for hours on end every day for more than a week, it doesn't get any more self evident than that, reports are obviously not being read or seen. it takes seconds, not days to verify a bot. What's your point? Of course most online games have bots and cheaters--at least those cheaters are dealt with more swiftly than on FFXI even though this game has far less players than other online games.

Even at FFXI's peak, only a small percentage of users ever visited the forums, much less posted them. Do you have any idea how many people don't even go on the community site to know when maintenances are? In FFXIV every time a patch comes out you can find tons of people asking "what the patch do?" when the entire patch notes are easily found on the website. People are lazy and can't be bothered to look up info for themselves. I know you want to think that since the version update details and such were regularly posted here, that people must come here to read that if not anything else. But the reality is most people in game try to get info from other players in game first.

So yeah, player on vacation or not, only a tiny percentage of real players actually come here (Yes, there are some people who never post but lurk here and read stuff, but that's still a handful of people at best). What makes you think Chinese gil sellers that probably don't even know English well if at all read them?

That has been going on since 2015 after SE stopped doing any major updates. Rules say third party developers are to be blamed since tools can be used on both private server and retail.

You can go to the FFXIAH forums and/or Reddit to find an information that is technically against the rules (that's exactly why we can't post a such thing on the official forums). Want to know what the rules tell you? Be a "vanilla" player.

All streamers hide the chat box (and should be). This isn't just community reps. This is so nobody's names or chat are recorded when they don't know they're being recorded.

It has absolutely zero to do with them being a community rep and zero to do with you or your conspiracy theories.

I do it as well, though I do it by putting my webcam in front of it, which is the best place to put it anyway so it doesn't cover up actual gameplay stuff. This is respect for the privacy of all users, not SE hiding "evidence."

Wrong. It's not fake, most streamers do it. Many people would behave differnetly if they knew they were appearing on someone's stream and they could see the chat. Particualrly, if they didn't want to appear on camera, they would leave if the streamer wasn't doing the respectful thing.

But you're so blinded by conspiracy, that it's pointless to discuss. Even if I wanted to accept your argument, which I don't, there is little point in hiding bot activity when everybody knows it's happening anyway. The rep has no motiviation to do it beyond the reasons any streamer would do it. There is no conspiracy to hide the fact that bots exist, anyone can play the game and discover bots, anyone can find discussion threads on the internet with google. For cheating, if they added just survival guide warps & /mounts early on, getting around would have been drastically less of a pain.
equipsets still need work. game makes available doing actions via menu & macro [ctrl/alt+W/B/M (weaponskill/pet ability/spell) is just a shortcut to the menu], yet only the macro version allows equip changes in line with the skills. Prove to who? You can't post here if you aren't a player, and pretty much anyone who ever comes here is either a current or former player.
The only option is to file reports. Nobody else cares whether or not you're filing them.

Further, yes, they don't like it, nobody who has a forum likes people spamming it with useless posts. The only end result of your behavior is you getting banned from the forums or your threads getting deleted. A staff member responded to your original topic, that's the most you're ever going to get out of them.

If you have any expectation that if you're annoying enough, SE will start banning bots just to make you stop posting spam, you've got another thing coming. That's aside the fact that even if they ban every character you've posted about so far, there's no guarantee you'll stop or be any less obnoxious about it. So there is no incentive for them to suddenly behave differently just because you're spamming the forum.

Maybe if you found a large number of other people who cared as much about this group of botters as you do, maybe that might add a little more weight to it, until then, one person posting screenshots of their own reports isn't going to do donkey doody.

Show me some more people as obsessive as you are about outing botters (and not sock puppet accounts that are actually just you). Bring them here, and have them lend weight to your cause. Then and only then, i might believe you could have any influence at all.

There are no ERPers due to the "No NSFW content" policy in our FC. I am sure there are several young players. They are more interested in my character than me as a person and I am okay with that. If you mean furries I know a bunch of players who love them in Vana'diel. I personally don't consider Mithra "furries" because that'd be a Western culture.

Anyways, I just realized the WoW community is nothing wrong. They are more light-hearted players than I thought they would be. Those Deaf players I just met in FF14 and they even explained how we can do raids without a voice chat which is why I am very excited to try before Endwalker comes out. (Oh don't we miss the old days we played in Vana'diel without a voice chat eh?) So far they are pretty good. The screenshot I posted two pages ago, we won with synced, min ilvl, and no echo just for fun.

I don't think SE gives a damn about the bots, moderating this forum, or doing anything significant with this game. They are far too busy on FFXIV, making FFVII Remake, and developing FFXVI. We're nothing in comparison to all that. The STF says it is a "full-time" service, yet you have bots running around automating gil for years with nothing being done about it.

PS: There is a way to MPK the bots in Sea Serpent Grotto, and if you do it enough times they will move to Marids in Wajaom Woodlands.

Sea Serpent Grotto drops a bunch of gil per Sahagin kill, and the bigger ones will net you 9k with gilfinder. So leave a bot there for hours, days, weeks, it soon adds up. As for Marids? No idea, unless you go back and dump all the Marid items when you're full.

Bhaflau Thickets is another place bots go to farm Marid Hides in the only place you can find them, along with Xarcabard (S) for Ruszor items. You can find bots killing those in the North East.

Bots tend to target either Sahagins behind the door in Sea Serpent Grotto, Marids in Wajaom Woodlands or Bhaflau Thickets, Ruszor in Xarcabard (S), or Gargouille in Beaucedine Glacier (S). If SE really cared they would look at these areas across all servers and figure it out in a minute.

Fair question, are you also reporting mister "58 times" via help desk for non-RMT behavior in violation of the TOS? Because even if it doesn't have anything to do with RMT, automation is still a violation of the in-game rules and policies. This falls under the category of "cheating" whether or not RMT is involved.
