Installing FFXI/FFXIV off the boot up drive

I have a small SSD boot drive that I only want windows on and small other programs.

When FFXI/FFXIV update it fills this drive and i have little room on it. I need ALL data on my extra data drives, how can i stop this from happening?

Why dont you just install the game on a secondary HDD?

I do but when i update ( I uninstall FFXIV) it adds a bit of data on the prime HDD.

I am going to try get OS disk by the comp manufacture to reinstall everything because I cannot figure out what is filling it ( i scanned disked, fragmented it, deleated DL files like DLing playonline for vista) When I get the download prompt for stuff like playonline I do not see how i tell it to DL somewhere else
