It's a forum to talk about the game, nothing more. It's not a direct communication to the developers, if you're lucky some things maybe passed to them but they never stated that is what they exist for.

Also, dealing with RMT and Bots is far far more complicated than you seem to understand.

If you ban them from certain content they will just move to other content that might cause far more problems, for instance Ambuscade.
If you take a zero tolerance policy and ban them all on sight, they will be really mad that you "took der jerbs" and so they will a) mass DDOS the servers so none of us can login for months and b) start stealing accounts to sell that gil instead.

If they can't make money off your game they will destroy it.

This is why they created the STF, to manage them and not to just ban them. They tried that in the past, it doesn't work.

Saying RMT and Bots should not exist in an online game is like saying nobody should die, sounds nice but it's impossible.

The point is to have discussions. This is called a forum, not "feedback solicitation website."

That's not quite what their support center team seems to think:

"We are sorry to hear that you encountered a problem in FINAL FANTASY XI. Posting on the forum is the right thing to do, please keep an eye on it for updates."

Was the response i got from their support center regarding issue with in-game content. This proves that it is indeed the duty of developers to follow and react to official forum posts. Or the intention of Square Enix anyway, to use the official forums as feedback channel. And if the developers aren't able to do so for the english side of these official forums, then it is the duty of community team for english side of forums (which is the NA community team?) to forward these issues to game team and developers.

When they tell you to post on the forum it's for other users to potentially help you.

The primary function of a forum is to discuss. They direct you here because they don't have any other official outlets for your voice, except debatably twitter.

I remember when they first made these forms, they stated it was to get feedback from players so they could listen to us. They encouraged people to post their thoughts and feedback about the game so they can improve the game.

Now it just seems like they don't check it or reply, if ever.

There have been so many requests for quality of life, I've seen people wanting to change race and their names, server merge, etc.

Most people who want to discuss the game do so on reddit and/or ffxiah from what I've seen.
