View Full Version : Bazaaring and AFKing
Simple but effective answer to a problem you seem unwilling to resolve. I would like to see a buffer placed on all NPCs so you cannot afk next to them. Including Home Points.
There are few things more obnoxious than targeting an NPC surrounded by a hundred bazaars and afk people. Can you please give the minimum effort and keep players just a small distance away from NPCs.
Yes, you CAN F8 and target the NPC, no, this is not a good enough solution. it's more than simply targeting the npc, it's mildly disgusting to look out upon a sea of blue named characters roleplaying as npcs. At least a small buffer zone would slightly curtail that.

Give all NPCs a knockback effect after 5 minutes. I like it.

Oseem knocking you out of range every 5 minutes while doing long augment chain would be hella annoying...
There are commands in game already called /ignorepet and /ignorefaith, which simply prevent targeting of pets and other player trust characters respectively. Easy fix to this issue would be to simply add command called /ignoreplayer, which prevents targeting of other players entirely unless they are in same party with you.
Ideally such command would be limited to work in city areas only, so you can still assist fellow players during outdoor battle content. Not being able to raise dead player, because you are unable to target them, would be rather inconvenient.

Or just show the abusers you're willing to punish them so they stop doing it...

They're not, and they won't, so, alternative solutions. All of the problems that exist can be solved with a single button press. They simply can't be bothered to push said button. Because reasons. So, as they won't solve the problem, compromise. Simply force them away from the npc. No lost subscription and you get free brownie points for the easiest fix ever.
No one really should care that an odoro exists, but the placement is troublesome. It just so happens that we could also remove all the people who INSIST on afking on TOP of other NPCs at the same time. So elegant.

Well if you're interacting, you aren't afk. Also, it would still be hilarious. Oseem knocks you into Nolan. Nolan knocks you back into Oseem. I could watch that for hours.

The reason this proposal is silly as it takes just as much work as doing something real about the problem, just from a different person or people. If you're convinced they won't do it one way, then they're probably not going to do it another way either.
But the only reason this is a problem in the first place is some people don't pay attention. If people paid attention, their little scheme wouldn't work and they wouldn't have gotten the idea to do it.
One way loses money, the other doesn't. One is an absolute no, the other makes sense, so of course it's a no, but at least force them to show their greed and say no.

It costs more than Odoro's $12.95 to implement any kind of a fix to deter his behavior.

Well, you could just stand between that home point in Mhaura and the cliff it is on so the knock back wouldn't do anything. The same with any NPC or home point near a wall. I guess they also gotta move all NPC's to not be near such obstacles.
A person created a nifty method to accomplish this task already anyway. So that's cool.

the extreme vagueness of this comment tells me it's not exactly legitimate, whatever in the world it is you're even talking about.
It's pretty straight forward actually.
