Game crashes at character select

Crashes at character select using no addons just the FFXI app icon. Direct play enabled, reinstalled and nothing works. Everything is update drivers, direct x etc... cant think of anything else. It crashes as soon as you hit character select before seeing any characters.

Do you have another windows-capable device you can use to compare? FFXI will pretty much run on anything made in the last 15 years, even a windows based tablet.

Also, if you're NOT using a controller, make sure to disable controller support in the config tool.
