Right nwo its extremely difficult to link external images. Many modern image host sites (such as imgur) don't have file extensions on the end and the forum won't parse these links as images.
The forum has a built in image upload feature that is available to the admins/moderators but not to regular users. Can you please consider turning this on? Keep the size limit low if you must but this is a fairly small forum and it really shouldn't be a problem for SE.

Not true. I use imgur to link to images directly on here.
I understand your point though, seeing as the forum gives you the ability to link to an external image anyway.

It literally never works for me.
If I use the image button on the toolbar and paste the url in, it doesn't work.
If I use the IMG tags, it doesn't work.
If I paste the link, it's just a link.

You need to load that page, right click on the image itself and select "Copy image url"..

For Chrome, copy image address.

I think my browser is messed up. Both the "copy link" button that appears when you first post to imgur and the right click > copy image location are not working (i.e. it doesnt actually get copied to clipboard.)
I really don't want to use chrome but firefox is really starting to suck these days....

I use Chrome all the time. It keeps all my bookmarks, drive, email, and many more. What sucks more is that is eating more RAM. I guess it's for to keep my computer more secured for a reason.

That's the principal reason I don't use it, FF uses a lot less resources, particularly when you disable all the dumb stuff they keep trying to get you to use.
But FF also just really doesn't like Google's products, google sheets/docs/etc behave oddly in it and a lot of functions can't be selected with the mouse- I have to use the keyboard or it just doesn't do anything.

I guess I am a big Google person then. I own a Pixel 3 using Google Fi since my brother works for Google.

I use Google Sheets to track the prices of Gobbiebag. It's old but it is what I use.

Oh I love google sheets. It's just annoying having to select toolbar stuff with the keyboard because I can't click on it with the mouse for whatever stupid reason (in firefox. Of course it works fine in Chrome)
I use many google products, I just don't like Chrome in particular.

Hey there,
Make sure the images you're adding in your post ends with the file extension (.jpg/.gif/.png) and it should work. To make sure it's working, I recommend hitting the "Go Advanced" and previewing your post before submitting to make sure the images are loading correctly. Also, please note that if images are hosted in a private location/server it may not show for others.

Looks like firefox's own privacy protection features were preventing the URL copying from working properly.
Still, I have to type in the IMG tags. The image button in the post toolbar does not work.

Yes, it works fine in Chrome. I have sold goods to over 100 players on Asura last year and I have become a multi-millionaire.
