You haven't replied to an actual NA Digest thread in many months. Can you please address the lack of content that both intermediate and veteran players are experiencing? We want I-Level 150-170 content. We don't want more weapons (especially from a lottery system or given our inventory issues). This is even less desirable when there is no new content to use such weapons.
P.S. I sincerely hope there is a new shield (updated Aegis/Ochain, or otherwise) to look forward to, in the future.

What old content besides seal BCNMs enforces a level restriction still? I thought most of the old stuff already had level restrictions lifted.

May be low on your server, but not other servers. I'd recommend transferring if you are finding your server population too low.

Ya'll could do so much more than this if ya'll wanted to. What about making Mireu's appearance just like besieged? Raise an alarm in the form of a cutscene and have it change locations for lag issues, participation. Reward everyone that fought. REALLY incentivize players cause Ppl still happily do besieged even with no silver voucher reward. Also, consider making ranged/instruments displayable on a character model. And we need another wardrobe.

Can Campaign battle be addressed/modernised?
Back in the day, I really enjoyed the content.
These days, it seems empty content, with just people doing it for the AMAN Trove objective.
Suggestions:
1. Increase the monsters level/add new higher level waves.
2. Add different treasure/rewards to the pools from the chests.
2. There is a long standing issue where monsters getting "stuck", coming one by one, or not at all for up to half an hour.
I guess I could also say the same for Besieged, as the battle on Asura is normally over in less than 5 minutes which also renders it useless for lower level players participating with the way the EXP is calculated.

GARISON is level restricted and yes the BCNM and some WoG NM also are restricted.

The BCNMs are designed for a particular level and should remain level restricted, it's part of the challenge. They'd have to remove or alter the drops. I'll give you garrason but nobody cared about that for a single day of its existence all the way up til now.

The BCNMs are designed for a particular level and should remain level restricted, it's part of the challenge.
I agree. At least leave some content that requires some kind of brain power.

I'm really starting to think that the Dream Flower Petal wasn't added to loot tables as intended. By the time the RoV bees in La Theine had been camped to death already.

I've seen your bug report, and it has been marked as "Working as intended"... Maybe nobody has worked it out yet?

Yeah, we figured it out. From the black mandies on Purgonorgo Isle, you have to get them to use Dream Flower first.

I'm sorry but this is a very disappointing update.
Each year, some version updates are on the light side as we prepare for bigger updates to come, and this is one such update. Rest assured, though, that we are preparing for greater things to come in the next version update—the November version update, which is always one of the bigger ones as XI celebrates the 11th month of the year.
However, in exchange for being a bit lighter on new content, we’ve got a wonderful array of campaigns for you at enjoy and prepare for an even more fruitful November.
I quote the announcement of the October 2020 update because it is written as though something more substantial would be added. The last massive addition to content was Dynamis-Divergence in Nov 2017. 3 years ago...
Odyssey has been massively underwhelming in my experience. There's no story reason to be there, just Moogle NPC says go. I've seen more story crafted into holiday events. There's little incentive to group up or fight the Notorious Monsters that you've crafted besides Moogle Mastery at the moment.
Segment cost for lustreless materials need to be reduced. Even if new rewards will be added to segments in future updates. That amount for 1 material is too high.
Nomad Mog Bonanza weapons is upsetting to be honest. It's a pure RNG reward. It adds no substance. I don't know why there is significant resources devoted to a lottery. In a time where we're constantly told development resources are slim. Why spend time balancing and making weapons that don't have content behind them? Please reconsider adding these weapons to Odyssey and further giving group reasons to do Odyssey.
I appreciate that a new storyline is slowly unfolding. I appreciate efforts to welcome new/returning players. I appreciate that effort is put into things to attract casual players like Ambuscade Vol. 2. But please be fair also to players who are dedicated to keeping this game around as they continue to subscribe month after month.
I hope December and going forward we can get transparency on what's possible with current development resources, some new progression for veterans and return of monthly job updates.

Even though nobody uses 1920 x 1080 resolutions anymore since 2005, it's nice to see this kind of initiative!

Regarding level caps on old content..I don't mind, and even enjoy capped content. The problem for me is finding anyone else that cares to do any of it, and trusts not being allowed in. I can't do BCNM Petrifying Pair with trusts for example, but all the new Higher Level stuff I can use trusts on. Doesn't make much sense to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The golden bomb for V2 is a good idea but the randomness isn't. The problem is, the points are awful already.
Why not instead make it a 100% spawn but make it despawn in 10 seconds or something, so players have to kill it quick to get the bonus.
If I'm struggling with v1, this bomb will not make me do v2. I'll just keep struggling with v1 because the vastly higher reward and low chance of it to spawn.
Here is an even better idea, allow the bomb to give a bigger bonus based on how many people you bring. you really need to encourage people to group up for "easier" content.

im not sure if anyone else has ever posted this but i think we should do like ff14 and do a bonanza every month, a small one, and 2 huge ones at middle of year and at end of year. its a really good idea because it keeps people interested, and noones gonna drop out of the game waiting for their marble to strike rich.

FFXIV doesn't really have anything like the mog bonanza. The closest thing is the Jumbo Cactpot, but that just rewards MGP and a cosmetic ring, you can't get any gear with stats or anything like that from it.

I have been playing ffxi since beta and I also been busy with real life and as well as been deployed a lot but I checked to see if I can get the mentor status to help others when they have questions but I do not see it in the ROE nor will it allow me to activate mentor status.

I stopped playing some time in August after a particularly frustrating game session with my linkshell. We had at least three people who brought cure bots to our Omen escapades, and not for the first time. After the first run, I asked myself - why am I here, trying to play my favourite jobs (generally support jobs), if these people are going to deliberately ruin my game experience like this? That's when I realised that this game is causing me more grief than enjoyment, and gave it up.
I'd intended to stop playing for a week, but every time I went to log back in, I was met with that sinking feeling. It's ended up being a few months.
A friend got in contact with me outside the game a few days ago and asked me if I was coming back, so today I logged in to see how things were. I was immediately met by /l chat from one of the botmasters, noticed that LS multiboxers were still soloing Divergence, saw that the original Dynamis was still crawling with automated currency farm bots, noted the same old players selling HQ Dynamis weapons in suspiciously huge quantities on the AH.
SE, are you going to address this wholesale cheating? Don't direct me to the STF - I've been reporting bots to them for years, and nothing gets done. I just want to know if there's any point keeping my account on standby in the hope that this will change, or if I should just cancel it now and save myself a bit of money.

I quite like it all, though at least at first they felt a little weird for FFXI, but maybe that's just because it has been a while from since we got new music at all.

Ambuscade
Volume 1: The balance in difficulty has been feeling a little weird for some time. Back in May, I was able to win against the Orcs at Normal difficulty, alone (in around 10 minutes of battle time), but against the Quadav, Trolls, and now Mamool Ja, it seems very difficult to win at Easy or higher. Quadav and Trolls had too many gimmicks stacked into one battle, and were not fun even on Very Easy.
As for Mamool Ja this time around, on Very Easy they feel /too/ easy, but already very difficult at Easy, and Normal feels a little crazy with the Autarch's auto-attack dealing more than 2000 points of damage.
Maybe the Orcs were accidentally made too easy, and I got too used to the 1200 points (or more)... but I would hope that's not what really happened. ^^;
By the way, when I say alone, I mean that as a Samurai, which definitely is not very good of a job against so many enemies at once, but regardless, I feel like the Autarch is way too strong at the beginning of the fight at Normal and lower difficulty levels.
Volume 2: More fun than Volume 1, just like last month. The additional bonus is very nice, but the reward for all difficulties still feels kind of low for the effort and time used for the battle, though I do understand that there needs to be a difference here.
In general, I do like it that things are not the same every month, but I do wish for more Volume 1 fights that are comparable to the Orcs from May 2020.

I don't think it is a good idea to tie this kind of features into any kind of achievement systems, which this essentially does due to the Records of Eminence objective. A player should only become a Mentor if they actually want to help other players, though I do understand the want to give some incentive for people who otherwise would rather not.
In fact, one could say that the RoE reward goes against the disclaimer/terms that is shown during Mentor registration and under Help Desk/Config, where the following is stated:
"No benefits of any kind will be provided to those who choose to participate in the Mentor Program."
Furthermore, the amount of time, 48 hours, that new and returning players have to participate seems very low, and should probably be extended by quite a lot. Many players will go "AFK" leaving their character online for unspecific amounts of time, which will quickly add up to this counter, and even if they only used a couple of hours at a time, there may not be anyone to respond when they do ask, at that time.

Nomad Bonanza Bug? I purchased a Mog pearl from the moogle. I let the moogle decide on the number and was given the number 4. I was going over the prizes and when I looked at the winning number requirements it states that "all three numbers matching" was needed to win first prize. Are all the winning numbers three digits by default? Or is the possibility of a single number or two digit number being drawn as rank 1, 2, or 3 a probability? I keep going over the official page but can't find any information but the official page states that "all three digits matching" for Rank 1. Any help would be much appreciated thank you.

They should really show the following zeroes to clarify this, but if you pick 4 as a bonanza ball number, what you're really picking is 00004. You would win first prize if the last three digits (left to right) match exactly, the first two can be anything- 12004 99004 45004, etc.

Yeah, it does seem that way at times.
However, I have come to accept FFXI for what it is. A MMO I can come back to during free-campaigns or when I feel the urge. I am more interested in the other FFXI mobile game in development tbh. With the success of Genshin Impact, I can't help to wonder if it will be some elements of Gacha. I digress......
FFXI does have the best campaigns of any mmo imo.

I'm honestly not sure where you're getting this impression. We're getting new story stuff that was never originally planned. Yeah, it's not Massive New Content Extravaganza, but it's more than I was personally expecting.

While I personally appreciate new story content, I'm not happy that we don't have group content to keep engaging with our linkshell friends. There needs to be a Dynamis Beaucedine/Xarcabard (Divergence) on the product roadmap, in addition to what ever else SE has planned. Story content and actual game play related to character/gear progression, both need to be prioritized with the same level of importance. This isn't a one-player game.
To accept anything less than this, given that we are paying customers, is silly. Honestly, SE could increase the subscription price to from $12 to $15 or even $20, and Final Fantasy fans will still pay it (but only when SE continues to meet or exceed our expectations...and they haven't). Asking for Divergence-level content every 3-4 years is not asking a lot.
Sadly, many updates over the last 10 years have been supremely underwhelming, to the point of giving me Stockholm Syndrome.

I mean, we've gotten new batttle content too with Odyssey. I mean I can understand how you feel- but I feel like they're giving us quite a bit considering what they're able to do and what resources SE gives them. We also know new battle content is coming, as we've been told empyrean armor will eventually get its reforged +2/3 versions.
