since it seems like this game is being completely unpoliced right now just give me the power to see who is botting 24/7 in Dho Gates without EVER leaving and allow me to stick them in GM prison or sumin. Nothing is happening and just like Beastman controlled areas the RMT have COMPLETELY taken over ENTIRE JP farming zones. real players have practically no chance of getting a party. I want whats best for this game and am more than happy to be the one to throw out the trash!

I think there needs to be steps veteran players can take, say having an account from 10+ years old to be able to sign up to be a GM or someone to honestly police the game to rid the server of RMT and other unsavouries

In FFXIV, the novice channel is essentially policed by the players, and we do have the ability to temporarily kick them from the channel for disruption.
Honestly it really wouldn't be a completely terrible idea to create a program to allow vetted players to flag / temp suspend RMT bots pending a follow up investigation by SE.
Thing is you'd need to make sure there were consequences for flagging non-RMT to limit abuse.
But to keep things simple, I'd honestly settle for a one-click report button for RMT bots. Just add it to the context menu in the full screen log. press the button, instant STF report. FFXIV has this.
What they could do is, add something like Ambuscades-legion area, where you make a party and enter the instance for a set duration, and put a bunch of Apex monsters in it for the group to get Capacity points.
Let parties choose a duration like an hour, two, three etc and have the monsters re-spawn quickly. They could even create a small area with an unique theme, like say how Mog Garden is, instead of legions box room.
Then nobody would have to deal with these automated sellers taking all the mobs out in the open world, because you could just reserve an instance for you and your group, with no competition for monsters.

I've asked for this before, I offer to do the job for free.

They would never do this because players tend to abuse their power against people they have an argument with or don't like.

What you guys are missing is that these players usually multi-box and are giving a large sum of money to SE. Why would they care in that case to ban them and lose those subs.

I saw you yelling to create a CP party yesterday for hours, did you fill in the end? It is kind of tragic, that I think for the most part, players are actually just going to RMT now for Job Points.

Genuine players aren't going to stick around in a game littered with cheats too long. New players I've seen return can't actually believe what they are seeing in /yell.
As soon as players leave, the RMT will leave. Good luck to you, if that is your thing. i.e. bots and mutli-box players playing by themselves and just there to sell content to people. Doesn't really appeal to me personally.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust random players to not ban non-RMT

thats why we need well trusted players maybe voted in by long time players to become these new form of GM, or at least have the devs create some form of tracking code that lets them know when people have been non-stop beating on mobs for a week straight with no breaks and instantly ban them, the only people that will have problems with this are people who are botting non stop. It is actually ruining my experience with the game as well as many others. When i log in I want to play with people, and it's become so rare to find people that havent become so lazy because RMT are just making it so you cant find places to do things anymore without insane amounts of competition, there's just too many of them now.

Since we all are the subscribers, you have to be employed for the company where all employees work for a living. That's why regular players have no privilege to do such like that.

...and just like Beastman controlled areas ...
It is interesting that you say that, because I have developed, over the years (and especially this past few years), a Psychological Defence Strategy in order to help me navigate the corrupt seas I find my little ship sailing in.
I have started to view all cheats as mobs. A bit like your beastman reference [above]. I see botters, rmt, mercs, gilbuyers, etc. as Enemy Monsters, a sort of relentless background Zombie Horde. I see Gilseller Website /yells as Enemy Communications.
<That way.> I am able to log in and play the game with my friends, by the rules of the game, and in the spirit of adventure and friendship, which has been the backbone of FFXI for two decades.
And I don't worry about the rmt, botters, mercs, gilbuyers, etc. Zombie Horde. They are part of the monster world, to me. They are part of the world of heraldic imps, demons, and other monsters, they are enemies of Vana'diel, and they seek to destroy Vana'diel.
As we know, Vana'diel has been under attack by Dark Forces for a very long time. The WOTG and Crystal War storylines explained that we are at war constantly, peace is a temporary illusion, and the enemies of Vana'diel will lie, cheat, and steal, and use any filthy underhanded tricks, to try and destroy our beautiful Vana'diel.
How do I fight back, in this war? One example, I avoid the popular JobPoints camps where the enemy botters hold dominion. I find quieter places to obtain JobPoints.
I entirely solo'd two jobs to Jobmaster, all solo, before the CAP rings and other CAP bonuses / special CAP campaigns even existed. I was getting tiny [microscopic] CAP per mob, but I persevered, and got two Jobmaster jobs solo, in 2016-2017.
Obviously, I would prefer for all the rmt, botting, mercing, gilbuying, cheating, etc., to be instantly steamrollered into a big flat dead thing, at which we can all /point and /laugh, and /dance around.
But since that isn't going to be happening soon, I just continue to enjoy my happy life in Vana'diel, and try to avoid the Zombie Horde whenever possible.
We, the adventurers, the friends, the honourable players, we were here at the very beginning, and we belong here.
Vana'diel is my home.

Exactly that. However, there could be a trusted group of players who have priority when reporting bots/cheats due to the reliability in the past.
I would imagine SE get a lot of bogus reports - Let's look at people who's reports have had a good track record of being accurate and prioritise their submissions.

I have started to view all cheats as mobs.
Interesting coping mechanism, however, one major downside:
You can't target and fight RMT/Bot players..

i think we all need a name and shame wall added to the game where you can post screenshots of all the people who are clearly buying JP from these people, afking for hours all stacked up in Dho Gates, I has a players added to my dynamis LS last night and noticed he didnt know how to play SMN that well despite having nirvana.... just now i've seen him AFK stacked in Dho Gates leeching job points from RMT... i dont want to play with people like this.

Maybe allowing us to be a PKer only in Dho Gates and Escha areas would be a wonderful feature. :)
Of course, this is the PvE world we are living in and we are programmed to not attack the other players but a freedom of speech is allowed.

Square don't treat people who multibox any different than people who don't, I don't understand where you are coming from here. A GM doesn't know how many accounts you have when they deal with someone, they don't know you spend 6x as much as another person. The accountant has no link to the customer service agent, there isn't a big note on your account saying "this person has 6 accounts and has played them for 10 years, they also have the best gear so don't ban them k?".
They don't want to ban anyone because it's bad for business (this applies to all businesses), they will if they have to (which ends up also being bad for everyone, since once the game isn't profitable it's not here anymore). This is why they give everyone 2nd and 3rd chances.
I know of players who think this, they have 5-6 accounts and "the best gear and lots of rema" and think they won't ban them, yes they will ban you if you're stupid. So don't be stupid.
I saw you yelling to create a CP party yesterday for hours, did you fill in the end? It is kind of tragic, that I think for the most part, players are actually just going to RMT now for Job Points.
One of the problems when people can't fill a party is they are asking for in-demand jobs and those players don't want job points since they are already master. It's not like, "damn I can't get a melee to join my job point party!"
Back when colibri merit parties were a thing, 10 years ago people wanted bards and bard trolls would flag up all day and goto work leaving their computer on just to annoy people, it's no different then to now. In-demand jobs cap out job points really quick. I used to be a main brd and flagging up resulted in 10-20 tells in minutes, guess what happened when I swapped to war.
Back to OP, they will never give one person power over everyone else. Power corrupts and humans are emotional animals. There are .01% of players who would never ever abuse that power, if you need people to do this you would get people that would abuse it and ruin the whole thing. As such, they can't do this.
Also it's easy to just get your linkshell members to "vote for you" and then you use all those votes to abuse people from a competing linkshell.
The problem the developers have is this:
Ice cream is proven bad for you and bad for society (that have government funded health care, tax payers foot the bill), doctors and a small % of people will tell the government they should ban ice cream (job point bots).
However if people are buying that ice-cream in large numbers, then they obviously want it even if it's bad. So will banning ice-cream be a net negative or a positive?
Will banning all the job point bots cause a mass exodus of casuals? If nobody wanted this, nobody would use it but people do want it. When you goto these places you see armies of players who use the services. This is the problem.
Also, from a purely technical stand point. The only way a GM can tell if you're a bot is if they send a tell and you don't reply to the tells. The people running these bots often are there watching over them, this is the problem. If they get a reply to a tell they often can't do anything because they can't prove you're a bot.

One of the problems when people can't fill a party is they are asking for in-demand jobs and those players don't want job points since they are already master. It's not like, "damn I can't get a melee to join my job point party!"The solution here is to be less picky about who joins. Other than a healer, you can pretty much take any 6 players and get things done better than trusts.
Will banning all the job point bots cause a mass exodus of casuals? If nobody wanted this, nobody would use it but people do want it. When you goto these places you see armies of players who use the services. This is the problem.Honestly if you ban JP sellers I think it will make parties a thing again.
