Twilight Scythe does not activate Death on Notorious Monsters. Against normal monsters, it's about a 5% chance.
Read the wiki entry on it for more specific info.

That should answer any questions you might have.
In my personal opinion, it's not really worth it compared to other scythes you can get. There are a few who would disagree, but I feel it's only a good weapon for situations where you are either farming or fighting something with Physical Defense Shield abilities, such as Invincible. By all means get it if you can. Otherwise, try and get Woeborn. It looks ugly, but it's got a better DPS and also lets you not only use EnDark, but boosts it's damage too. Twilight lets you use EnDark too, of course, but then it's Death effect wouldn't proc.

Yah figured it might be worthwhile for proccing blue / red to use if it worked on NM's
if it doesn't then naw ;p
I really don't trust wiki too much on new information.. its susceptible to trolling and other noobery

Very true. I've seen people change things on a page just to support their argument on something. It normally gets fixed after a while, though.

Doesn't proc death on NMs
It's about 5-10% proc i'd say but it's effected alot by the mob level and resist (aka it will hardly proc on bats can they resist darkness)
Best thing about Twilight Scythe is none elemental DMG it deals which is good for anything that resists or absorbs physical/all DMG which makes it a must have.
Ps. Twilight Scythe has a better DPS cause it's lower delay.
I'd say Twilight is the better scythe u mean u can say the death proc isn't worth it but if ya fighting 4-7k mobs 1 in 20 hits will do 2-3.5k DMG
Tho saying that there is a TON of trail scythes that beat em all Emperyan,WoE,Def Down, WS DMG and prolly others

I dunno. As someone who's used both for a long time, I find Woeborn to be the better performer overall.
But, yes, ultimately Trial scythes are the best way to go in the end. Already on my way to a Redemption. It's nothing special inside Abyssea, but it'll be great Outside, especially now with new outside content coming.

So you are saying using twilight scythe.. mobs that normally absorb damage... say glavoid readying a tp move.. wont be healed?

Twilight Scythe deals Non-elemental slashing Damaging or something like that. I don't know what to explain it as. Basically if you go fight an Elemental know how normal players do like ~50 Dmg? Well Twilight Scythe does full normal Damage. It bypasses Avatar/Elemental PDT's/etc.
Think its kinda like a permanent 100% Formless Strikes.

Wouldn't magian scythes beat both Twilight and Woeborn? (not talking about redemption) I'm pretty sure the OAT scythe is still a very mean weapon.

Well my GF recently got the Twilight scythe, and thus far we have ONLY seen death activate on elemental mobs.
In Heroes abyssea the new elementals, we only fought 5 cause it was really late when we got out of Shin but on all 5 it took 1-5 swings and death kicked in. Tested on a big range of NQ abyssea mobs and nothing so far, but I hear of it working on them.
My guessing is because of its unique dmg that the added effect is higher on elementals than NQ mobs if at all.
More testing to be done pls post screenshots of NQ mob dying from added effect ^^

Yep
Also yea i ment Trail Scythes > Dropped Scythes
One of my Fav Scythes is Def down scythe i mean when it procs (which is like a 40-50% rate) it's effectivly gives you a 100/85 = 17% attack boost which is like having +100 odd attack on ur scythe <3 (o and it helps every DD in ur party)
I have the OAT scythe i love that for Tp gain.

I thought the OoT Weapons all sucked because they had terrible damage severely gimping your TP and WS phase numbers on top of the fact the 2x/3x/4x Spread were something awful along the lines of 40%1, 30%2, 20%3, 10%4.
Or do you mean the Higher-Damage 2x Only scythe?
I just know the Dagger one is awful :\

96DMG Occsonally attacks X2 one
The Occ x4 is offhand only and since u can't off hand a scythe (/dream) it's not that one

I wonder if they intend to make the trial scythes go up to 6 or 8 swings by 99
might be worthwhile to make one just for 2hr zerg if so

Think a long time ago i remember seeing .dats on augments, I think it only went up to 2-5 or 2-4.

I have a lv.90 2-4 for murdering Blue Mages.
I never bring it out for PvE unless I'm going for Shadow of Death.
So I'm hoping it will become a 2-6 or something by 99.

It doesn't bypass the -75% damage on Uragnite and Adamantoise type mobs when they pull into their shell however.
