I'm quite desapointed of the june version update you will release later this month.
Battling with RMT is a real pain.
You may not have enough people working on it.
I can understand all of this but.....
Putting limitation of spark and unity is not the good answer.
The real thing to do is to speak with all the competent autorities to make a worldwide law against RMT.
Doing this you could close all the website where people can buy gils and other things.
Another way, if you want to punish RMT in game and also affect all player. The best way would be to :
- Close the Auction House
- Increase drastically item selling price
- Create NPCs that sell everything that exist in vanadiel
This is a game not a real life, so for me seeing so many item wich cost 10 50 100 or more millions is simply a nonsense.
I know you will not do what i'm asking, and i know that the game economy is based on players selling item to other players and thus removing the action house is killing one important aspect of the game but the tree is ill and its roots are rotten so no other way to heal it than cutting it from the roots.
Another way : MAKE REPORTING PLAYERS MORE SIMPLE
I see a lot of rmt players in Ceizak Battlegrounds, mainly beastmaster with super speed.
If i could :
Check the player --- Report --- RMT Reporting --- OK
It will be so easy for all players to help you report their activities.
Right now the reporting has to many steps to be efficient.
Of course to cut abuse reporting, after 3 false report the player account so all his characters will be banned for a week : 7 real days.
Thanks for reading me and sorry for all the gramatical fault, english is not my m!other tongue
Actually the best way to combat RMT, is to punish those who enable them in the first place, No buyer, No seller, problem solved.
So, if you're not going to do that, then you need to find alternate ways to hinder their money making potential, and here we are with Spark's and Unity.

Punish both in fact, punishing only one side will not solve the problem.
No buyer no seller is true
No seller no buyer is also true

It is not punishing people at all. Being able to make millions of gil in ten minutes by trading npc items and people abusing it should have never really been a thing.
Now people will have to do it in the traditional means, and actually work for it, god forbid.

People had to work to farm the sparks in the first place, hours of effort.
If your complaint is about bots, those same bots can farm dynamis or whatever else.

During Gain EXP it took 10 minutes to cap unity and sparks. x 6 for multi-boxers, then chuck in the use of scripting as clearly used by some, and even more sinister tricks
and you are talking about millions upon millions of gil in no time.

There's a big difference between farming things to sell vs literally printing gil.
To the thread topic: We don't know what the cap is yet so lets not get too far ahead of ourselves.
If the cap for turn-ins is 99k spark or 198K, I don't think it'll affect the average player very much. We'll have to wait and see

How do we go about working for it? Cause selling currencies is not creating gil.

Look at whats moving in the markets, and go from there. There are loads of different ways of making gil in FFXI via legit means.

I asked this on discord and ffxiah no one can seem to answer it. What do you gain by losing the ability to make less gil?

I never used the sparks route to make money. It is easy to make gil in FFXI if you pay attention to what is selling and not (like in the real world).
It stops RMT/people pumping unlimited amounts of gil into the economy and also selling it from that method.

You may agree, or you may disagree with all these recommendations or be split where you like some and dislike others.
Hands down, this is still the most comprehensive and effective solution to act as a counter-measure to RMT that has been posted on these forums if strictly limited to internal FFXI adjustments.
Legally shutting down all RMT financial operations (which would be external of FFXI) would be the only nail that would need to be put in the coffin,
but the internet being what it is makes that extremely implausible without the full support of a vast multitude of entities.
Adding an augment as i suggested to any item purchased with sparks/accolades is a more graceful compromise with a NPC created that will remove augment for the recommended price curve based upon the minimum equipment level associated with the item.

I'm not going to pass judgement on it until i find out what the limit is.
The update notice implied that t his limit should be higher than what normal players will usually get from these systems.

The two most effective areas as far as I know are Puks/dragons or bugards/tarichuks . Even with a puller I couldn't cap sparks/accolades in 10 minutes.

During Gain EXP?
This would be hard to do unless solo(and im not sure it is even possible then cause theres always someone there during gain exp) but youre saying RMT are doing it which is impossible to do in a group cause the exp drops off with more people added.

Have you got RoV done, and all the other EXP bonuses given throughout the game? Have you called Kupofried at least, or have a COR?

They just need like some 30k Spark/Accolade items which convert into a lotta gil.

Always some suck up fanboy ...probably a gil buyer who is responsible for all the high prices! You think going to farm sparks 3 times a week on odd hours for 3 hours only to make about 36 mil a week is going to keep up with you and your gill buying friends who prop up the price of even just upgrading your gear to tier 3 can cost upwards of 30 mil just for 1 piece or 75 mil for jse neck pieces and 500 mil for REMA...yet you think it's the guy making 1 MIL in 20 minutes of farming sparks is abusing the system?! seriously fan boy!?

I think they should simply limit the number of times you can repeat daily challenge RoE objectives. they, but Gain Expereince especially, generate a ton more points than you can get any other time. Don't remove them, just put a cap on them, and lift the total limit.
