2 things.
1st.
When I stand infront of a chest in abyssea and press F8, I cant target it if there is a NPC behind it. If there isnt a NPC behind the chest, F8 works.
2nd.
I can cast cure, debuffs and DD magics on chests. Not quite sure why O.o?

Hello there, Kaych! Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.
As for your first concern, I believe the F8 targeting works in such a way to show priority targeting. Think about it this way. If you were in a clutch situation when fighting a couple monsters and you press F8 to target it quickly for Sleep, Stun, Bind, etc. but you target a Chest or whatnot first, this could be very problematic. I do understand the potential frustration with trying to target chests easier. What I suggest is submitting feedback requesting a new "hotkey" be implemented that prioritizes things like chests. You can submit feedback HERE (https://support.na.square-enix.com/form.php?id=20&la=1&p=0&fo=41).
As for the second concern I have come across this too and can understand the concern with blowing up or sleeping your treasures. If you don't mind filling out the template provided we will gladly submit this issue for developers to investigate. Thank you!

You can target Chests with spells because in Abyssea there are Sturdy Pyxis scattered throughout the zone that are potentially Mimics. So they probably made all chests in abyssea targettable with spells and abilities in case it's a Mimic. Obviously if they only made the Mimic chests targettable a player would easily be able to discern which chests are free loot and which are Mimics by checking to see which chests they can cast on. This would ruin the mystery aspect and risk associated with having some of the scattered chests be mimics.

I am a Taru Male and it dosent matter what jobs I use^_-
I have similar posts like this. It happends with Campaign Orbiters, Chocobo NPCs etc.
I'd rather use the <bt> macro to get attack a mob fast, or <stnpc>. And third, if I am standing still, minding my own buisniss, then I get attacked by a mob, I will automaticly target it. So the example you show, isnt really a problem for me. I'd rather target the NPC thats infront of me(Chests, Campaign Orbiters, Chochobo NPCs).
But that may be just me^_-
