There has been many conflicts with relic/mythic owners in regards to the new emp weapon ws. Even the Amano does not come to par with an easily obtained masamune.. Many feel ripped off spending 1yr+ working on a relic to be put to dust by a emp weapon.. here an idea to keep some balance and level the playing field(if it hasnt been discussed).

Fake emp weapons: (WoE obtained)
after reaching +2 and getting the ws.. how about SE implementing a quest like "Unlocking a myth" to where in the end, the fake emp weapon is traded in to unlock the WS of that category to be used w/ all pertaining weapons. Imagine a Burtang /w use of Chant.. or Amana with use of fudo.. People may disagree seeing how much work will be needed farming nms and woe etc... but its not really too different from getting a runic key from Nyzul Isle just to have an easier chance to unlock... Waiting daily for an assault tag sucked :x. In regards to the real emp weapons.. SE can just buff them up and keep them separate from other mythics and relics.

The only cons to the quest would be the amount of congestion in WoE as well as VNM hunting. SE may have to adjust pop rates of VNM(chesma etc) which they should of done a while back. Other than that, would be a great way to help older relics.

they could just make emp ws WoE and Abyssea only. But im sure they'll bring older stuff back with new trials.

However, the new stuff SHOULD be better then the old stuff. and unless you have a good LS who will baby you, it's not that easy to get an empy weapon (i mean relic and mythic just cost you millions, thats not the same as effort when so many people buy gil).

As much the idea of Chant du Cygne with an Excalibur or whatnot sounds interesting . . . I sincerely doubt that there will be a series of "Unlocking a Myth"-style quests for the notoriously powerful Empyrean Weapon Skills, if only for the reason that it would set a precedent by allowing everybody who completed it access to a Tier III Skillchain Element (Light/Darkness) to be pulled out on the fly on whatever weapon they pleased. (Yes, I know this argument doesn't fly for lolDagan and Myrkr, but then again, those aren't exactly notoriously powerful, now are they? :P) That aside, imagine Ukko's Fury on something like a Widowmaker . . .

This may sound arbitrary and dumb, but this is S-E we're talking about. Their idea of "balance" was to counteract the Walk of Echoes weapons (which let you use Empyrean Weapon Skills at any point in time, mind you) with weapons that let you use the now relatively underwhelming Relic Weapon Skills once after every 13 Weapon Skills used with them. If there is anything I could argue on this subject, it's that that particular line of weapons should be upgradable to at least par levels and let you use the Relic Weapon Skills any time you want to, if you really want to use them so badly. (Naturally, this would be on top of giving the Relic Weapons themselves further enhancements to make them competitive with the Empyrean Weapons themselves.)
