[Dev 1006] Abyssea Adjustment - Gold Pyxis Feet

I really hope that the upcoming Abyssea adjustments will include a serious overhaul of drop rates for Empyrean armor feet from gold pyxis. It really is ridiculous to spend 5+ hours doing nothing but farming gold pyxis, having the lights set so that 90% of kills drop chests and 1/3 of them are gold, seeing well over 100 gold pyxis and having only one contain feet armor (which, of course) was not needed by anyone in the alliance). The drop rate for empyrean armor should be adjusted to at least be as frequent as the augmented items, or "NPC trash" as we call them.

The way it is now harkens back to the bad days where extremely low drop rates sucked enjoyment out of the game

If the drop rates were any better they might as well sell them via a NPC instead. I think a possible solution would be for the feet armor to drop based on your jobs in your group. This at least time sinks you enough to get it to drop and you won't have to cringe every time you see one go to waste.

I see feet once every 20 or 30 chests, and they typically are pretty great pieces of gear once upgraded and moreso as +2. That is pretty acceptable to me considering what it used to be. My thing with it is I've seen people get so excited over finally seeing their feet drop that you'd think they just beat the game or something. Do we really want to take that away from ourselves? I don't ever remember being excited about buying my body piece from a NPC. But the feet dropping in a gold chest was a different story.

You can be happy with pointless, endless farming as much as you want. To me, that was one of the biggest turn-offs of the game. We've finally seen some progress in ridiculous drop rates only to have the same old SE raise their heads again when it comes to Empyrean feet. This is particularly troublesome in Vunkerl which has 9 of the 20 feet. The other zones are better because they have only 6 or 5 feet that need to drop at that same abysmal drop rate.

The recent announcement that NOTHING will be done to correct this in the next update is extremely discouraging.

Feedback to SE. Endless hours of farming at ridiculously low drop rates is NOT FUN. Get with the program.

I agree 100%. Having the unfortunate luck of no longer finding parties for any Aby zone outside of Altepa's DO camp Siren has fallen to a point where the only way to get your feet is to find a willing LS to help you farm them. I've been trying it solo for the past week since I'm without an Aby LS, burning though dozens of stones, and all I have to show for it is a smaller stone supply.

This is utterly hideous. Between the drop rate and the difficulty in getting enough chests to even get the chance I may very well never see my Empyrean feet.

The drop rates really aren't all THAT bad though if you set it up right. DON'T cap amber, just get enough to get lots of small boxes (since big hold KI), and DON'T solo. As it turns out, you're gonna see a lot more feet by killing faster. Imagine that.

A problem with raising drop rates is that eventually a time will come where everyone has the feet they need (or almost everyone), and then we'll be swimming in useless junk nobody wants. Remember when people cried about kindred crests because they couldn't do a very simple, very easy, very fast limit break even faster? That's right, SE adjusted the drop rate. Now all you get are crests in abyssea, which aside from 2 limit break quests are completely useless until SE adds a new system for them. The same thing could happen to feet.

The drop rates are fine. The only remaining issue is that they are random, so you might get 100 PUP feet before you get the kind you wanted.

In addition to not capping amber out, you also need to check the state of the pulse martello, particularly cores 06 and 07--this affects chest spawn rates and treasure quality. I have indeed soloed (on NIN) for my last 3 feet, one of which was in Vunkerl. Depending on how many cores we had, I would first build 15-25 amber on ephem. and stop. Then grab pearl from vnm and then a few more azure from nearby ephem. as I'm slaughtering something with azure/pearl kills.

Also did this a lot a few weeks ago duo/triple with a few lsmates as well and got their feet. Got BLM feet in Attowha just the other night and wasn't even trying--impromptu duo SMN and PUP killing roaches for his H2H trial when we saw it was firesday.

TLDR: Drop rates are fine IF your conditions are right

Having spent many many many hours farming rdm feet --8 hrs one night alone and only saw 1 pair of blm feet drop-- I agree that the drop rate needs to be looked at. Maybe making them purchasable if u complete all the quests and get all the atma from an area that they normally drop in. After many weeks and many hours and stil no rdm boots it gets very very frustrating

How are some of you ok with spending hours(or literally days in my case) farming an item thats not worth using so you can spend hrs turning it into something useful SE needs to either make the feet drop at +1 stage or just make them purchasable with cruor to balance it with the other 4 pieces

took me just over 100 hours in vunkrel to finally get dancer feet.... bad drop rate lol that is an understatement
i tried the 10 amber capped azure capped pearl everything people suggest but still took almost 100 hours in vunkrel
every other peice of armor gear is accessable outside of chests so why not make the drop rate a little more it dont hurt not like u cant pitch them if u dont want them

I got about a dozen people various feet (some got a couple of them, including DNC, NIN, DRK, PUP, SMN, RNG, BRD, BST...forget all of them)--most of it while I was solo and would fill my inventory so it would stay in pool until they could get in party and lot them. The drop rates were so high sometimes that some offered to stay to get more to drop, and walked out with 2 or 3 pieces they needed.

or they could just fix the feet so you can buy them with crour like the other4/5 af3 base pieces

it's really not all that hard a fix for SE, make certain mobs drop gold chests that contain certain jobs, say narrow it down to a 3 job window for each mob, much like they did with certain seals tied to certain NMs. The feet still drop at same rate, but you can somewhat target it... and everyone can avoid the mobs dropping rng/cor/brd feet like they have the clap.

I'm exhausted and v. tired and actually very angry cos my time is being wasted with all this farming for gold chest to hopefully get those but alas nothing happened!
