Question? Did I beat a time record or no?

I recently got back into FFXI and did the Mirror, Mirror quest and it says I beat the Clear Time for the event. Is this my time or a world thing? I doubt I beat a record for the server. Just trying to clarify it, thank you.

The "record time" to be beaten is reset during each update. If you happen to be the first person to do the event after an update, your clear time, will become the record. The next person will see your name and clear time, until it gets beaten by someone else. Yes it's server-wide.

yeah it really scratches my head why they implemented a record time feature and didn't bother to actually save those records upon server shutdown.
