Both a friend and myself have started characters recently and... Trying to keep ahead of the gil cost of spells sucks and doesn't seem to be actually possible.
Weapons and armor can be purchased via Sparks at the RoE vendor. Please consider adding spell scrolls as well. Alternatively, maybe conquest points or unity accord points would work too - Just please give us starting out newbies SOME way to get them.
