It has been several months since the Ninja job adjustments came out and other than some minor fixes to the relic augments wording being inaccurate there has been no word about correcting the massive nerf to San elemental spell damage. Is this something the devs are even aware of? I understand not many people play ninja these days, and even fewer play with the intent of magic bursting, but the fact remains that when you removed the relic augment from the head piece ninjas lost a significant amount of damage from our San elemental spells. Can we ever expect to get it back?

Easiest itemization fix would be to add both SCH and NIN to the SU3 EA equipment sets.

Extremely excited for Siren and especially happy about the specific mention of quests to deal with the lore surrounding her!
Thank you Matsui & Fujito!

As I expected the merit categories that replace Foe Sirvente and Adventurer’s Dirge are not good enough to warrant giving up 5/5 NT merits.
Pre-adjustment → Post-adjustment
Foe Sirvente → Con Anima
Adventurer’s Dirge → Con Brio
Con Anima
Decreases own physical damage taken while singing a beneficial song. Decrease damage taken by 1%.
Con Brio
Decreases own magic damage taken while singing a beneficial song. Decrease damage taken by 1%.
Hopefully this not the ONLY adjustment bard gets, because it's really disappointing. Does not really help the job at all, sirvente and dirge are very limited in use because there are other songs that are more beneficial to battles.
SE please if you're going to make each job unique PLEASE read the forums. I have posted many issues about brd. The highest priority to me is the ballad overwrite issue.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...verwrite/page2
Followed by the spell icons for bard, could easily color each different song type a different color, IE attack red, defense blue etc.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...-Icons-for-BRD
Be consistent about bard songs affecting pets. Mob bards can buff Mob pets, yet players cannot buff player pets. It should be the same, why do beastman bards have more power than player bards in this respect. Either remove Mob bards song effects on mob pets, or allow player songs to affect player pets.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/th...cc-Regen/page2
and lastly finally giving us the player bards massacre elegy

Thank you Mr. Matsui & Mr. Fujito for another wonderful monthly update!
I wanted to say that I LOVE THE IDEA of Unity items receiving augments. While there may be only one path to choose from; please please PLEASE make the augments attractively appealing!! As a player who still uses many Unity items for his character's jobs; the thought of strong augments truly makes them even more useful than before! And hopefully the items available for augmentation will not be limited to just weapons or armor? Augments on accessories would be a BIG help as I am unable to solo other content for better accessories currently.
(Perhaps have the augments build up over several turn ins like the items from escha do???????)
I also wanted to add the idea of Siren becoming an available summon sounds absolutely wonderful!! Will we perhaps be seeing Phoenix or Bahamut as well in the future???

Siren being added is AWESOME! Great News.
All of the adjustments so far have been wonderful; I love the approach to balancing around other jobs and their abilities, as I can only imagine that this takes alot of tweaking. Keep up the GREAT WORK!

Thank you for the RDM update! I am okay with anything. Just make RDM awesome again.
Siren looks very interesting! Oh, Matsui, I like your shirt! :o

I can't wait to see augments on Unity gear. That will make a lot of them become relevant again. Nice. Curious about Siren too.
Also, please make every stack-able items stack to 99. I understand it might take time, but just knowing it is in the work would be awesome.
I also understand it would be harder for items like crystals, since a stack of 12 converts into a cluster and vice-versa. Maybe make a new mega-cluster for 99 crystals? It's just annoying to go get capacity points and have inventory fill up with 9-10 stacks of crystals quickly. But it would be awesome to be able to stack echo drops or holy water or remedies up to 99.

(Making multiple posts as directed in the OP)
Thank you for the changes to the RDM augments. It makes much more sense like this. I particularly like having immunobreak chance bonuses on the boots. :)
I'm interested in the augments for Unity gear - it will be fun to see what you come up with. I enjoy it when content is revitalised to make it relevant again, so please continue doing this!
I'm intrigued to see how you create a chemist "vibe" for Monberaux. Looking forward to it!
Replacing merit spells and songs continues to be a good idea, thank you. Please don't forget about Summoner's merit blood pacts when the time comes around!
I haven't had much chance to try the new battlefield on high difficulty levels, but thus far I've had a fun (if frustrating!) time. The new equipment has interesting effects - and thank you for including RDM on the jobs that can equip it. Among other things, it will be perfect for helping me land my Demon Arrows (and sticking the Attack Down effect!) with RDM's rather low Archery skill. :D
I like the idea of including "Dispelga" as a bonus spell for equipping Daybreak. There is a similar item, the Twilight Cloak that grants "Impact" as a bonus spell; this is still an important item but unfortunately the Twilight Cloak's lack of item level properties makes it challenging to use at times. Is there any way of making Impact a spell that can be learned permanently for the jobs on the Twilight Cloak?
I also like Mr. Matsui's crafting shirt!

Regarding the Bard changes, I think Bards could benefit from some additional adjustments that would make their songs less tricky to use, particularly with regard to having to sing "dummy songs" to make best use of instruments that give additional song effects and how songs overwrite each other. Other people more qualified than me have made suggestions on this forum that may be worth looking into.

I'm extremely excited about Siren and hope that we don't have to wait a year to see her! As part of the Summoner job tweaks, please also look at the potency of some of our Blood Pact: Ward abilities - some are too weak to be useful at level 119, and would really benefit from some changes to bring them up to date.
Blood pacts with potency that varies by moon phase or time of day are really hard to plan to use because you don't always get what you need. Please fix them to have maximum potency for both effects at once:
Heavenward Howl (Fenrir)
Ecliptic Howl (Fenrir)
Lunar Cry (Fenrir)
Dream Shroud (Diabolos)
The following blood pacts have a very low cap on their maximum potency that hasn't changed since level 75, and so they have limited impact now we're at level 119. Please make these scale with Summoning skill to a higher level:
Noctoshield (Diabolos)
Dream Shround (Diabolos)
Earthen Ward (Titan)
In addition, Ultimate Terror (Diabolos) still decays over time and I'm pretty sure you removed that decay from other similar effects, so please consider doing the same for this.
Can you also please give us a way of telling when debuffs caused by pets wear off on enemies? If I use Tidal Roar (Leviathan) to inflict Attack Down on a monster, I have to manually keep track of the duration, and that's not always possible (particularly if it wears off early or is erased). This would be really nice for Beastmasters too.

Not to sound greedy, but is White Mage being considered for further adjustments to replace the ones that were reverted during the summer? I was very pleased to see those changes reverted, but also feel a little worried that such a promising amount of attention won't come back to White Mage for some time.

Are there any plans to increase the number of equipsets? Sadly I have completely run out and find myself struggling to work on new jobs as I don't have the capacity to make macros for them. Furthermore, are there any plans to give us new tools to use in macros, such as the ability to swap latent effect items like elemental obis only when they are active, and allowing us to use decimal values for wait commands? This would really help make my jobs more flexible and fun to use.

There are 100 equipsets. That is more than you should ever realistically need.

Nice pieces for multiple jobs. But the Elemental Gyves from Lady Lilith fight and fetters general have bad graphics lag effects and slows down FPS. Any chance to reduce these effects?

At the risk of getting off-topic... Equipset stats!
I use ~22 for WHM, ~26 for SMN, ~35+ for RDM. I could easily use another 5+ for WHM and... well, RDM devours equipsets like Atomos. Four for lockstyles, as they use gear I don't have in equippable inventory. Two sets for an all-jobs self-cure set for Omen's 500HP objectives. Two sets for cross-jobs stoneskin and self-refresh. That's ~91, and I'm not going to realistically fit another job into 9 equipsets.
100 is clearly not more than I need!
Isola
09-12-2019, 07:47 AM
Dood. you do not need thirty five different sets for rdm. Nor TWENTY SIX for lolsmn. You don't need an entire equipset for one piece of gear.
Jerbob
09-12-2019, 07:58 PM
I feel a bit bad continuing to go off topic, but I'm fervently of the opinion that more equipsets are important and I don't want SE to misunderstand me, so...
In conclusion, more equipsets please!

I too am very excited for FFXI future updates! The news about Unity equipment receiving rank point upgrade additions, Domain invasion overhaul and Siren as a summon-able avatar are all very much appreciated. I am hoping to see final stage rank point Unity weaponry rival the final stage ambuscade weapons.

I must be the only one completely and totally sick of augments. Can you imagine, seriously, going back and grinding hundreds of every unity for items to rank augs, again.
On top of the fact that reminder, unity gear cannot be stored. Once they have augs they will HAVE to make them able to be stored. But... it will probably take months after it happens. So your inventories are going to go from 2 or 3 situational items, to a hundred augmented unstorable unsendable items.

I would very much believe that items that you are not currently using [@ Isola] that would fall into your category of "not currently in use" would be sent to mules. Also if my proposal for an evolution for removing current AH interface and replacing with a pawnshop/warehousing style marketplace would be implemented, your inventory capacity concerns would be alleviated.

Regarding equipment reward drops from all HTMB in the Walk of Echoes [P] battlefields, will there be any way to store these eventually? At present, we have no way of this and they are undeliverable to mules on the same-account

Are you sure you are trying to send WoE equipment to mule? All of them should be sendable as most are only marked rare now. I tested and am able to send windbuffet belt +1 to one of my mules.

My apologies, I meant for all equipment drops from the HTMB fights Odin/Alexander/Cait Sith/Lady Lilith in WoE [P].
I'm also curious what the [P] stand for :p

If Unity Wanted equipment is being upgraded in the future, will there be more jobs extended to older rehashed unity gear/weapons? And perhaps maybe...I don't know...
Ilvl Ridill?!?!
As for changes in Domain Invasion, sounds good but hopefully it doesn't have any negative impact to Escha Bead gain

Instead of simply allowing Unity equipment to be reforged, we are planning to implement it as a new type of battle content. We are planning something that could be enjoyed by a wide audience of players, whether you’re challenging Ambuscade or farming Divergence.

Not only will Siren be added as an avatar, we are planning to include a storyline and rewards for those that help the fight. For this reason, it’ll require some time to develop but we promise that it’ll be worthwhile, so please look forward to it!
As a side note, the embroidery on my shirt was done by my wife, who is also my partner in Vana’diel. She was very happy to hear that her work was very popular. Thank you!

I understand the desire to promote new content, or rework old content so it feels fresh, but what about digging in a different direction? Can you look into this rule:
If you discover that the game data has sustained any problems due to unauthorized access, please contact the PlayOnline Information Center within 7 days of your account's recovery. Game data may be recovered for customers who fulfill the following two requirements.
--You have not had your game data recovered since April 23, 2008.
--It is still within 3 months of your account being accessed by an unauthorized third party.
2008? How old is this game? How old was this rule when it was established? What year is it now?
It's not always the content that makes a game enjoyable to play, but also the customer service and the impact they have in interactions with the players. GM's are essentially lack any real power to make changes (ask anyone playing, it's just a sad general view), so why have the only other SE-player outlet handcuffed by rules like the above to make real positive player impacts too? I'm sure there are other areas that need to be read with fresh eyes to see if they require modification too. Can changes like this please happen?
As this isnt a bug or a technical issue, this seemed to be the only place where we're asked to input ideas for development. Hope it is seen.

Why is SE working on new items when EXISTING issues still need fixing.
Automated farming bots still run rampant, farming items to desynth into spheres. Look at any Genkai 50 area, exoray mold, ancient paparus, and bomb coal are all camped 24/7 by automated farming bots. I have been reporting this for over a year now. THIS should be priority 1, enforcement of the Terms of Service. Either that or change the Terms of service to allow 3rd party programs.

Answer: Because the people who create content aren't the same people responsible for whatever effort might be made to keep the game clean.
Why should we not get new content because of a problem that has existed as long as the game, and all MMOs for that matter?
