View Full Version : Possible error after July 2019 patch (Ninjutsu damage)

Hi, the Mochizuki Hatsuburi head equipment (all versions) had an augment that gave up to 25% Ninjutsu Damage to "san" ninjutsu spells.
After the latest patch that augment is completely gone and the equipment received a new one affecting Innin and Yonin.

This seriously hinders NIN's damage potential and it's actually a nerf rather than a buff. Despite having access to all 6 spells at the same time, their maximum damage potential is much lower than it was before the patch (25% lower).

I wonder if this is meant to be or just an unwanted mistake? Something similar happened with the WHM patch, they forgot to add the Relic bonus from Legs/Feet to Protect and Shell, but that was corrected one month later.

Can we get an official response from SquareEnix concerning this issue? Thank you!

Someone did bring it up http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/34206-忍者の強化要望について/page33

Kencha 様と同様 私も参ダメージ確認したところ 大幅ダメージダウンしていました。
スクエニ様 忍者は弱体なんでしょうか?

Similar to Kencha, I also checked the damage, and the damage was significantly reduced.
Sukueni-sama is a ninja weak?

- "Ninjutsu Magic Accuracy" and "Ninjutsu Magic Attack Bonus" are not working correctly on these following equipment.
Kog. Kyahan +2, Mochizuki Kyahan, Mochi. Kyahan +1, Mochi. Kyahan +2, Mochi. Kyahan +3

We apologize for the inconvenience this may be causing.

Well, they confirmed they are aware there is a problem, but they confirmed the wrong problem. Mochizuki Kyahan, as of the update has Ninjutsu Magic Acurracy and Cast Time Reduction. Not Ninjutsu Magic Attack Bonus as they stated above. The actual problem is with Mochizuki Hatsubari only having a Yonin augment. Prior to the update it's augment was "Enhances Ninjutsu III damage", Mochizuki Hatsubari would need to augment Innin as well as Yonin as stated in the Job update patch notes. Hopefully they fix the right thing...

Your job adjustments are bad and you should feel bad.

Says they fixed it on the 9th...they did not. Sad.

SE, please address this dreadful oversight. Lots of people are clamoring over RDM augments and this seems to have been forgotten. The augments that enhance ninjutsu should really be on the hatsuburi and not the kyahan.

Also, you guys really need to improve Myoshu: Ichi... +10 Subtle Blow is woefully inadequate on a job that caps Subtle Blow as easily as MNK; it really should be changed to +10 Subtle Blow II. Why do so many other jobs have access to Subtle Blow II? NIN has none. When there is no purpose or need to ever cast the spell, it needs to be adjusted to turn it back into something slightly more lucrative than it is now.

This is never going to be addressed, is it?

Your post reminded me of this issue, so I pressed Like. I hope SE responds to this, too.

Also to mention the long forgotten Blade: Kamu that was left out of weapon skill adjustments years back that never had been addressed

I feel NIN got seriously screwed with their update. what NIN desperately needed was an adjustment to WS damage, like MNK got.

Just as a comparison, I recently acquired the Naegling sword. With that sword on, I can output roughly 8-10 times more damage from Savage Blade than with my Kikoku on a same enemy. Now, Naegling is somewhat broken to be honest, but there's no reason any sword should be better than a REMA Katana in the hands of a NIN. I'm not calling for a nerf on the sword. I'm calling for a boost on katanas. Ninjas are supposed to be deadly assassins. Their damage output should be up there along with SAM and (now) MNK.
