It's too easy when your level 90 to defend in besieged. it needs to be upgraded to be challenging to level 90s as well.

Honestly, I'd hate to see this. Most servers have a dead besieged as it is, making it tougher won't improve things. That's the same methodology they tried with campaign and after the upped the strength of the mobs campaign everywhere fell apart and now zones rarely ever hold territories any more. As it stands besieged is the last real remaining chance for IS outside of some random pickup party on colibri. Making it more dangerous would only hinder this.

Plus, the beastmen have kicked our backsides enough as it is, I like the fact that we can finally one up them.

I like campain battle upgraded too.

they do not do it because how abyssea impacted the game

Campaign was only used before for solo EXP.

Abyssea is now used for EXP.

I guess that broke campaign?

Honestly, Campaign was never a very good system to begin with. Besieged worked well because you were defending the city that most people were already in anyways.

Whitegate was Player HQ, and Al Zahbi was one zone-line away. Campaign took place entirely in WotG zones, which were left completely barren for the most part. Not only that, but battles came and went much more quickly and took place in significantly more zones. Players could no longer look at the Region Map, see "Besieged: Preparing, Level 8" and walk over to the Whitegate area to get some EXP. Instead, they'd look at the Campaign Map and see a Sword over a zone, Retrace themselves to their past home nation, Warp to the zone in question, and then potentially have the battle end before they reached the OP.

People had no real reason to try to Campaign beyond ranking up after the slew of nerfs that were thrown at it. It's not that fun, and it's really not that rewarding. Wings of the Goddess was an absolutely amazing concept, but I feel like the entire expansion was just implemented poorly. There's nothing to do in WotG zones aside from Campaign (which is flawed in and of itself). The zones are empty aside from the occasional EXP party, or Surya's Staff maker. There's no WotG endgame. Walk of Echoes is terrible (herp derp public entry). I prefer just forgetting the expansion exists.

Even before you get into fine tuning the events, the max potential EXP/IS reward should probably be [attacker level] * 1000. So, 8000 for a level 8 with maybe a 500 bonus per NM killed regardless and an additional 1000 per Cerb/Khim/Hydra and beastman leader. In turn, Campaign would also benefit from its rewards being tripled per battle. Campaign does see a level correction, so I would also expect similar to apply to Beseiged.

Overall, Beseiged mobs have way too much HP (probably more than a lot of Abyssea NMs) and in some cases perhaps hit too hard. When it's scarcely populated, this puts an incredible strain on the few people present and the limited and dumb NPC presence. There's very little that can be done to save a general in these cases when 30+ mobs are sent to zerg. Meanwhile, suggesting people just AoE and run isn't exactly fun, nor guaranteed to work since they'll either be run down by things with enhanced movement or the mobs will just turn right around thanks to their AI pinging on their goal.

So, just bloating the mobs with 15 levels of stat buffs isn't going to help the situation any. I'd rather the event be more like the Blitzkrieg assault with waves of weaker mobs that could add up to damaging levels, but that's probably asking for too much when it comes to zone limitations.

I leveled a few jobs off campaign, when the cap was lifted to 80 a lot of my exp was from it.

I think my blu hit 75-80 only from campaign exp. pld was almost pure like that too.

a LOT of DNC exp when cap was 75 was off it too

Besieged is broken, and in my opinion, it always has been. 500-1200xp for fighting NM's for a half hour is hardly worth anyone's effort. Even under the old xp system, it was a pittance.

The only reason I ever participated in Besieged - which I did often, despite the lack of reward - was because the ensuing chaos was just plain fun.
