Do I need to download the new version of FFXI to play the Aniversery 2 free weeks?

I saw a video made by Mr Happy that FFXI was having free weeks for the 17th anniversary and there is a new installer for the game. The last time I played FFXI was when they had a free week previously. I have the version of the game that has all the expansions installed separately.

Will my old install of FFXI work or will I need to download the one on the site and install it.

Want to know before I spend like 6 hours updating the game.

Your previous installation should work; however, if you haven't updated your client in a while and if you experience long update (if over one or two hours), I suggest try downloading the new installer and reinstall the game with updated files. While the download speed of the new client installer depends on your connection, I believe It will save you hours of updating!
