I've seen this happen quite often too, It's because you have a menu open. I'm very sure that's the reason. Apparently, ANY menu being open prevents blacklist from processing, the same way /sea is prevented.

Like if you're in the AH menu, it won't work. Spell menu, won't work. Items list, won't work. etc

Thanks for the reply. However, this happens just in plain screen. I have a feeling that there maybe a limit on how many you can blacklist? Which I hope is not the case because I don't want to see a lot of what goes on in yell.

There is a maximum... it's relatively high... but very possible to hit on asura... count your blist maybe remove some offenders who are gone

Old info, may or may not be the same number now

There is a limit of 175 entries used on any character's blacklist.

I'll have to check that later, surely I haven't added 175 people to the list, but it wouldn't surprise me thinking about it.

I believe the person you're blacklisting must be logged into FFXI for it to work.

Yes, they were online at the time.

It definitely appears that way! 100 people on my list, exactly. Sad thing is, this list is nowhere near complete. I just get this error every time I try to add the other annoyances.

Dood. I blist all the people that shout garbage in yell. My blacklist still isn't capped. You might have to lower your standards on what get's you listed just a little bit.
Unfortunately you can't just list everyone for everything...

My standards revolve around blisting the following:

- Any talk relating to politics, I don't care for it.
- Notorious mercenary yelling, selling content for gil (selling job points, other content).

That's all really.

I think you're just going to have to let mercing go man. There's more than 100 mercs that shout. and they shout from new mules all the time. It's an unwinnable fight.

it's like from the other thread. We need the ability to blacklist words. Not just people. You want to blacklist any yell that contains <Buy?> and that should be possible. yeah, it will evolve just like the rmt that bypass the filter.
