Much like anyone else playing the job post 75, I'm very disappointed at the lack of spells gained by our automaton. I'd like to see some new Automaton only spells added to the game. This would help out against the issue of balancing around what other classes have access to spell-wise and offer a unique quality to playing PUP.

Here are a few spells from older FF games that could work:

Fog - Inflicts the Amnesia status.
Scathe - Inflicts heavy non-elemental damage to an enemie.
Scourge - Inflicts heavy non-elemental damage and can inflict Sap or Poison
Toad - This spell turns an enemy into a Toad.
Doom - Gives a countdown to the target's death
Curse - Reduces the targets stats for a duration

Any thoughts, additions, suggestions?

unfortunately in the current state, adding more spells could cause more issues. I think they have to give us more control over spells first.

example, other day fighting bakka, bst had him down to 20%, puppet went over nuked him with blizzard 5, cured him for 3600 hp. I didnt know ice healed him, but my mage puppet was useless on that nm, had to switch to another puppet. Just stupid I had to do that.

blm aoutomaton should be able to understand the weakness and the immunity of a mob, and cast accordingly.

btw: some of those spell are too overpowered to be real...

I realize the spells may seem a bit too powerful but I really just wanted to get the ball rolling by listing a few spells found in FF games. I also agree about having more control over spells being cast. It'd be great if we could use the RDM/BLM automaton to proc with Tier III/IV nukes in Abyssea. Ultimately my suggestion stems from the frustration of not having anything PUP only on our spell list.

i agree. i would very much like something "pup only" on our spell repertoire.

You forgot Oil, which increases effectiveness of Fire magic. That would work perfectly with puppet. Puppet animation pees on the mob.
