"back to the beginning" bugged

Wings of the Goddess second mission won't start. I finished Cavernous Maws, have the key item from finishing that. Back to the Beginning shows up as the current quest but the three NPCs that start the mission do not start the mission or give me the Key item I need. Help?

Looks like he's good now, I do wish sometimes the game was a little more clear on objectives/status.

While the wiki's are a great tool, if you take a break (as this was the case) you totally lose track of where you were.
