Description of the bug:
Hello,
After September update, the statistic "Weapon skill damage +%" started to work for all hits on multi hit weapon skills. Previously that statistic was only working for first hit only. It drastically changes the game balance and gear sets for a lot of weapon skills.
For test I was doing to confirm it, I was using weapon skill Guillotine, but I noticed the same for other weapon skills like Resolution, Entropy and other people noticing it for pretty much every multi hit weapon skills.
Is that a bug, or is that an intended fix/change?
Regards,
Bartek

Well there goes the one thing that semi balance the DD jobs >.>

The only WS this severely imbalances that I can see is Resolution. For most other WS it just brings them more in line with the high fTP single hit WS. If Resolution is a major issue here, I'd rather they keep this change and nerf resolution.

Resolution is already broken on buffed RUN with Aeonic. Now with this change and Aeonic augments, RUN will be top DD while also being really tanky. If WSD for multhit stays, Resolution would require a serious nerf or else it will be seriously OP and push WAR, DRK and RUN even more above other DD jobs.
That being said, this change also affects hybrid WSs to the point where you will see 99k damage on Blade: Chi and Tachi: Jinpu, which is quite broken too.
Possibly also Entropy with Anguta, but not as much as Resolution probably.

I've tested Entropy with Anguta and 70% Weapon Skill Damage, don't worry its still bad, just not as bad. At 3000 TP it was doing around 33,000 damage.
/edit
For reference, Entropy still loses to Cross Reaper, for instance.

WHAT BUFFS WERE USED IN THE CHI SCREENSHOT, BECAUSE THIS WAS ALREADY POSSIBLE BEFORE THIS CHANGE AND THEY AREN'T "QUITE BROKEN". IT WAS ALREADY BROKEN AND SE NEVER GAVE FACKLE ABOUT IT. CAPS ARE INTENDED BECAUSE I'M YELLING!!!

I would like to know too. Ruaumoko threw them on us and probably went to sleep :) He tends to do his little tests on Apexes with trust only tho. But only he can give us some answers.
Snitches get stitches!
In all seriousness, though, I think WSD should've behaved that way from the beginning, but that likely has its own balancing implications. Maybe a worthy compromise would be making WSD max out at a certain percentage like with haste and cure potency if it doesn't already.

Considering the way multihit WS are generally geared around, capping WSD% wouldn't impact them very much. It would on the other hand nerf single hit WS rather significantly.

Not using the template so this thread going into trash anyway.

It doesn't really "nerf" single hit WS, what it does is bring multi-hit up to single-hit in damage, which is a GOOD thing. I much prefer a situation where each job has 2-3 solid WS than say where you just want to spam Savage Blade and use nothing else.

I'm all for nerfing reso into the ground if it means I can keep my 50k raging fist.

How should I use template for such general bug/change tho?

Simple, don't
It's finally working like it should. Don't screw it up.

Don't you understand that:
1. I dont want it to get fixed (kinda), but I dont want to invest hundreds of millions of gils to get equipment to support that change, only to have it fixed in couple of months, when eventually developers will be aware of it. Because I don't think you believe that it wouldn't be finally discovered..
2. It's working like it should maybe, but it completely breaks some weapon skills. It makes many bad weapon skills mediocre or good, but also makes some top ones completely broken. Resolution for example. Especially on Lionheart RUN. Do you really want to see army of WARs and RUNs with Lionhearts burning everything instead of SMNs? No other DD jobs will be even close to WARs and RUNs. We are not talking about some minor difference. It's total devastation in DPS vs other jobs.
3. All I want is confirmation if that's a bug or is that a fix and it's working as intended. I could even live with Resolution being broken, but I dont want to play with uncertainty of spending hard earned gils or points on stuff that might be useless in few months.

The main post was now edited with template and I also called GM to push it up faster. Sorry guys if that hurts you, but im not gonna pretend it's fine and base my future gameplay and investments on possible bug.

I understand that some ppl like to exploit stuff like that and likes powercreep so much that it blinds their logical thinking, so I'm not surprised in your opinion.
Once again I don't want it to get fixed. I want SE to clarify if that's a bug or not. It would eventually come up sooner or later and if that's a bug and gets fixed later, you will feel terrible with such a nerf after being used to higher numbers.
So yeah, hate me if you really need to. I don't really care.

I don't think that applies in this instance. Simply by the sheer amount of responses to it, means it's not going to go unnoticed.

Doesn't matter now, because I edited it and used template and also it was reviewed by GM I was talking with in game and he escalated it higher too.
Once again I don't want it to be fixed. I like this change, but I think it's in best interest of everyone to know if that's intended or not. There is really no point in trying to hide a possible bug and got nerfed later after being used to play with it.
