You said it yourself, relics are going to be the best of the best. Why is it still that a Emp weapon can deal 8k damage constantly and I am barely touching 3k at my best. Think about it.

With the new adjustments to Dynamis... they will be very easy to get.

Still not as easy as Empyreans though. They should be better, in my opinion. An easy, legitimate fix, in my opinion, is at 95 or 99, remove the current aftermath effect as being aftermath, and place it on the weapon as a base stat (and I understand that some weapons may need some adjustment in this category, such as Excalibur - 10/tic regen is very strong to keep as a constant idle effect - perhaps a lesser regen, or make the effects latent so they are only active when engaged), but most effects are not. Apoc's 10% haste is not allowing excessive haste since the game caps at 25% haste from gear (just allows you to wear different gear really, does not truly effect the max amount of haste you have on DRK since you can hit haste cap without it), and 7 Store TP from the Amano is fairly useless as an aftermath, but amazing as a base stat on the weapon.
Remove the current aftermath effects as aftermaths and make them base stats on the weapon. Change the current aftermath to be either the same as empyrean aftermaths, or more ideally, place the aftermath times on a 15-45 second scale depending on TP, and give it an occasionally attacks twice effect (or even 10-30 if you feel 15-45 is too overpowered). Certain WS for relics could possibly use some adjustment as well, but
Concerning mythics, what makes them exceptionally weak is that they don't have unique weaponskills, relatively low base damage compared to their relic/empyrean counterparts, and disappointing aftermath. It would be excellent to give them a totally unique, Mythic-only WS at 95/99. In turn, you can give the new WS aftermath effect as well as the old WS. Perhaps different aftermath effects if necessary and not too overwhelming. Also, adjusting the aftermath effect as discussed with relic weapons would be a viable option. Maybe giving a marginal portion of the level 1/2 aftermaths as a base stat on the weapon would be best, and make the level 3 aftermath effect the same at 100/200 TP, but just a shorter duration.

How about actual thought into relics/mythics/empyrean weapons as well? They all look like straight up damage dealing weapons with little to make them unique aside from a special weaponskill. In some cases this is fine but for non damage dealing classes it would be awesome to see a unique spell or JA on the weapon.

You can argue that point for relics and empyreans, but not for mythics. They all offer something fairly unique for their respective jobs. Unfortunately, they really lack in the damage department. A unique spell on a relic/mythic/empyrean for certain jobs could certainly be interesting though. As far as mythics go, they're a bit disappointing overall for most of the jobs unfortunately. Most of the DD ones could use a nice boost in damage in some way shape of form.

You do realize this is feedback for these forums, not for in game, no?

Sure do, but I figure they will move it where it's s'posed to go, no reason to not discuss the topic.

The topic is already being discussed where this would be moved to. No reason for a second thread about it.

How about because Relics were introduced in 2004 and it's silly to still have them as the ceiling for performance?
I think SE is handling the situation just fine. The people who already worked on them can upgrade them and still be relevant while others are better off getting the Empyrean (or in the case of a few jobs Mythic). It's taken us 8 long years to break the strangle hold that Zilart-era gear has had over the game. It's not like any kind of majority of the player base owns a relic or mythic either.
The fact is SE got it (mostly) right this time with Empyreans. They're very powerful (most of them) and a challenge to obtain but still far more accessible than Relics or Mythics ever were. I think SE could ease up on the difficult for the lv 80 stages somewhat but otherwise they're fine. Amanomurakumo is actually relatively equal in terms of power with Masamune at 90, save for Masamune's aftermath.
With the coming adjustments to older content I imagine Relics & Mythics will become easier to get too, so wait and see. Personally I think the 99 versions of all 3 will be mind-blowingly strong.

I'm bumping this thread because this general view that relics need to relinquish the top spot for newer content is rubbish AND it is a rampant ideology amongst newer players. The TRUTH be told, many relics never were the best weapon in their classes, the WSs always sucked, just suck more now that even better ones have been made(there are exceptions) and we spent literal years of our lives making these just to have something come along after years of loyalty to the game that trumps it by a MILE.
What we need is people to stop arguing that this job doesn't need such-n-such out of some kind of bitterness that their job wasn't getting more attention, or jealousy because their weapon doesn't convey a sense of veteranness if there is such a thing, but to support every jobs desires, every weapons dreams of becoming improved.
Let's stand together to ask SE humbly to improve all jobs, to give us all more support because we are ALL die hard fans if we are still playing this game after 10 years without any graphics upgrades, right? We are ALL worthy of a litlle more attention seeing as how we pay the bills around here, right? We all deserve a better overall experience from the game which a lot of us are still playing from a PLAYSTATION 2 from 10 years ago, right?
We are the loyal. We are the adventurers. Hear us.

I am still trying to figure out how they are so much easier to get when I personally with a few people can get emp. weapons in a day. There is no way you can get a relic/mythic in that amount of time. I agree with Aldiel and apparently SE agrees relics/mythics are in the need as well.

Like this post if you want to see auras added to Relic/Mythic/Empyrean!
Seriously though, the relic weapons need a skin upgrade at the least. I'm a full-time mage, but I can appreciate how DD would want their weapons to stand out.
The timing of a weapons release shouldn't mean anything to it's power. That is the whole purpose of magian trials. I think SE has a chance to get it right this time and I hope they take the opportunity to do it correctly.
