Constant Disconnect/R0'Ing

I understand there was a issue that was resolved from a few days ago with players having connection issues and constant R0, sadly for myself and a large majority of the carbuncle server and possibly other servers we are still seeing this issue almost 10xfold today. I have drawn out any possible conclusions its my ISP and have samples from people all over the world having this same exact issue. My connection goes down to R0, then slowly down from 100% or just disconnects at that point, afterwards for 5-15 mins sometimes I cannot log back in and get POL-1160. It has been consistent today, has happened more then a dozen times, and has happened to a multitude of players I have spoken too. Please address this issue!!

I play on Asura and it has been happening to me all day today so far and has been happening to the majority of my linkshell which also has players from Japan experiencing the same difficulty with R0 and disconnects. Any kind of response or update on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

It seems to happen to the majority of EU and SA players. And it is extremely annyoing.

I hope SE hears us and gets in contact with who ever is responsible for the 100% packet loss on the route to their servers (see in the screenshot below).

A workaround right now is to use a service as wtfast and choose a different routing.

So I timed the last 4x R0 events and there is exactly 21.5 mins between them, very repetitive pattern.

Getting really annoying, went into Omen and half the group red balled, popped a reis helm and half the group red balled....

Maybe it's a new game mechanic to make things tougher ;) let's see how you can cope without half your party :)

Every 10 to 20mins R drops and lag spikes. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes not. It started around Nov. 14. Help please :)

Has been happening for a few days now. Today trying to CP and Random R0. Goes to 58% then back to 100%. Yesterday a bunch of us were in new dynamis and lots of us were R0ing.

Hello, I play on Carbuncle and have been having a crazy amount of connection issues the last few days. It is to the point where I cannot stay logged in for then 15-30mins before the connection R0 and then begins disconnecting, 50% of the time it rebuffers to 100% and is good but often it will kick my brother off who plays in the same house as me and not me and vice versa. This has gotten so bad its making the game near unplayable, I have exhausted all other resources and deemed it a server issue as I have contacted my ISP already and many other troubleshooting options. Please help us!!! Theres dozens of people on my server alone having this issue VERY VERY often!!

I have been seeing the same issue on Bismarck, this also affects numerous other players simultaneously and I cannot discern a pattern by location. I believe either some internal or local networking equipment needs to be investigated

Also being intermittently disconnected on Shiva. After some amount of time that seems to be fairly random I will see my connection status start dropping then sometimes it will bounce back up and disconnect me with a POL-2059 error.

I've been testing via VPN from London (Kent -> London VPN -> then across to FFXI servers), and that has removed the constant R0s and disconnects for me, instead I see everyone else red dotting.

My other char I have connected this morning via Tokyo VPN but I haven't been home to test if it's been R0ing or not yet.

I've found in the past (when trying FFXI from crappy hotel Ethernet) that there is a control connection that is not constantly kept alive alongside the main char data connection, and things like Hotel firewalls close down the control connection thinking it has expired and about 1 minute after logging on POL kicks you out. When using a VPN it bundles all traffic together so this control connection can't be blocked separately. I'm wondering if something along the network hops is interfering with this control socket as sometimes I've seen my chars suddenly kicked (R0 for only a second), other times R0 gets down to 45% but the game recovers.

This still doesn't narrow down whether the issue is at FFXI server end or along the path, but certainly using a VPN is curing it for me. Not a long term solution of course.

I tried using a Japanese VPN but the one that I tried - disconnects me as soon as I log-in every single time. ><

I will have to try a different one.

Its interesting that I had no connection problems before the version update and now its constantly happening ever since.

A free VPN has solved this for me, but it's only a temporary fix. Hope that whatever node this is gets whatevered to make it work nicely again.

Can't S-E just create a VPN to the servers and give it us as part of our sub? :D

I am quite lucky to not have had many complete disconnects but i am RO'ing pretty regularly.

What is a little concerning however is I am a returning player along with a lot of other players i am seeing yet apart from a post a week ago there has been no update on this from SE. I would have expected a bit more info on the cause and what they're doing/hotfixing etc especially with an event to try and lure return players and new players alike.

Could we please get some info or an ETA please SE? Thank you in advance :)

Yes, It's pretty unplayable.

Joined a high tier battle for the first time since all this has been happening (as a healer of all things). R0'ed mid fight down to 70ish %, missing vital heals, tank dies, another player gets completely DC'ed due to it. Then it was all an up hill struggle which resulted in failure purely down to the connection issues.

Can we have an update on this please? It's been around about a week now and not a whisper of information from SE.

Problem for many on Cerberus as well. Periodical R0. Sometimes complete connection lost as well. I really hope we will get an official response to this soon.

It's annoying, we popped a Reis helm NM and half the party dc'd, meaning we lost our pop set....

We also had a strange glitch where we popped an nm and it went purple for around 10-15 seconds, never seen anything like this before, we couldn't do any action against it, before it turned red.

Time and gil are being lost, would be nice to at least see some recognition that something is wrong

Gaspee's got the idea but because it's way down here and not the OP it might get lost.

I can't speak for tech support threads which doesn't look like much happens in it but the bug threads have a similar sticky on how to post a problem and if you don't read it and follow it they wont respond no matter how many times you ask for the response. I'd recommend making a new thread following the stickied instructions, a bug report doing similar, and/or contacting support. I'd also put which server as they announced they fixed leviathan servers and I know Shiva only had a hiccup the day of the last update and has been find since
