Wait to rejoice until next week. We still know nearly nothing about how it's going to play out. ^^;; (Yes, I'm looking forward to it too. lol)

As I've said previously, I hope this means the the Relic armors are about to be upgraded in a similar fashion as the Artifacts. While I do enjoy a lot of the other multi-class gear, nothing is as well focused as the AF, Relic, and Emp stuff.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they don't shaft BST again... hey, I can hope. >.>;;;

They haven't said anything about reforged relic af +2 and +3 tho.

I totally agree with you. Job-Specific Equipment [JSE] is always better than multi-class gear.

This is the literal most incorrect statement ever said anywhere. JSE is the -worst- possible gear. It's an inventory and data hog. Multi class gear is always superior.

If you enjoy giving square an extra $4 every month to hold more JSE I'm happy for you. But it's a disgusting cash grab.

Some of them are situational pieces only... which is why you need them

At a certain point, caring about situations themselves become situational. aka; I no longer care about situations.

The more free inventory I have the more I care.

So... You're a bad player then? :/ There are plenty of JSE equips that have large impacts on whatever niche they fill, so there is little excuse to not have them (other than being new.) It's a pretty hard sell to justify halved ability duration over Inventory -1 for example. You are not going to find general use, multi-job gear, that buffs specific JA/JT. Trying to avoid JSE is the same thing as trying to be subpar, which is never a good choice.

I for one am looking forward to increasing my already capped TH from upgrading relic hands at least. XD Hoping for something good w/ BST, but we tend to get shafted nowadays, so it's hard to keep that hope alive..

That's not what I said, but you can run with it if you like.

I would have less storage space if I hoarded lots of multi-job armour sets. The fact that I'm using my JSE, which is often just the upgraded ilvl version of my 2004~2008 artifact armours, means I have the same amount of storage use as I had 13 years ago.

I don't like the multi-class gear, or the built-in obsolescence of the stat-bomb ilvl gear, running-in-a-mouse-wheel system. I find it ugly and offensive.

Despite the ilvl upgrades on my artifact armours, they are still the same base armour sets that I obtained a decade ago. I like this because I have memories of the adventures I had while wearing my original FFXI armours.

If I had storage space problems, I would be happy to pay extra money for the Wardrobes.

If I had millions of dollars, I would just give most of those millions of dollars to SE, as my way of saying thankyou for FFXI. Because FFXI is the greatest computergame in the history of the universe, and I feel honoured to support it.

I hope this introduces a way to also collect currency for relics in a more party inclusive way where it’s not so damn boring. No more solo farming please for the love of god. Lmao

It will be interesting to see if currency drops in DD... I'm not sure how the devs would feel about adding new sources which are likely to greatly increase supply for relics after all.. Was talking about DD w/ my LS, and we came up w/ an interesting idea for entry.. What if it costs 300 currency to enter? Or needed for upgrading relic armor itself? XD Would help keep prices from crashing and give a new use for them other than certain niche weapons.

No, not yet, but I can't really think of an other reason to make a Dynamis II (III?) other than to lay the frame work for that. Perhaps, I'm reading too far into it, but I know that some people have already a crap ton of those Job cards like well over the +3 for them, and it basically becomes a "What else do we use these cards for?" Just have to wait and see really. Here's hoping.

imo they need a new system for relic +2 +3.
omen is already boring.
why would they think farming 200 more cards again from omen would be fun.
dyn2 is certainly for a new gear system,
and what originates from there, relics.

Watch new dynamis af2 +2/3 still require paragon cards though

If they don't Omen is dead content. No reason at all to keep doing it if cards don't get reused.

Apparently I don't have to. Freshly picked showed it being 60 hour lock out. It's like original dynamis almost

i don't think it'll stay like that forever, most likely just for the start to curb the crowds

This one zone is capable of handling 50x parties at once. They are not worried about curbing the crowds. lol

It's to artificially extend the life/usefulness of the content. Which is a perfectly valid and acceptable reason for lockouts, especially when it's tied to nostalgia in this case. XD

jp update notes make it sound like it can handle a cue of 50 groups. Has it been confirmed multiple groups can be in?

That could be it too, but even so, what's the longest wait you've ever seen for Omen? Then cut that to 1/3, and you'll get the longest wait you'll probably see for DD. Especially once it gets rolling beyond launch hype, I just do not see it being likely to run into large lines given the 60hr CD.

Except there are already better examples of how to handle this in place, Omen Tags, and better yet Voidwatch or Aybssea time stones (if one couldn't get forever time extensions like they can in abyssea) it prevents the content from being burned through quickly upon release, but doesn't make someone who has to wait for their group to be able to get on schedule feel like they're missing out, etc etc.

60 hour lockout, handled like this, is so unwieldy and awkward :/

We'd been trending away from timed lockouts, look at all the other recent endgame content: Delve/Skirmish/Ambuscade/Escha/Reisen/SR/Incursion/Vagary/Unity/HTB

We took a step back to Assault days with Omen, and that was bad enough, considering the body/glove droprates and how slow you get cards (without the card event on), but this is on a whole nother level :/

(That said, I like all the gear from Omen, and the fights themselves, and it looks like I'll like the Dynamis content, and I like the gear and even the reward strategies (excepting bodies/gloves), so keep in mind the main thing I'm complaining about is the timing of the content.)

If it were 100% new content, not set in Dynamis zones, then I would agree that it would feel awkward.

Given where it is, and what it is, long lockout just makes me remember the old days and be not-upset over it.

It has quite the opposite effect on me, reminding me of the things I disliked from the old days.

I still haven't even gotten to play the new content as we didn't realize it would be 60 hour lockouts before patch so I haven't had the chance to get together with my group to discuss how we're going to handle scheduling, which is going to be super awkward timing wise in my group, but I can't go now or when we discuss it tomorrow I wouldn't be able to go then if we decide to, etc etc, so, wasting two days here, and probably plenty more in the future, which feels super bad.

It also kind of depends on how many instances each have in comparison.... but there are also other factors like all the upgrades they did. Or how you can't store KIs so people can't spam. Or how you can't go in solo and in fact it's highly encouraged to bring decent sized groups etc. I don't really see congestion issues but that's largely because I doubt there will be more than a couple of groups going at once. Especially once cp campaign starts lol

Dynamis-D drop rates still need to be improved. Now with the addition of crafting mats for torques being able to be bought via the different medals, medal prices have spiked on my server. Crafters are buying them en-masse to attempt to HQ torques. This makes upgrading armor that much more expensive. Please improve the drop rate across the board for medals and armor shards as they are pathetically low.

The statue crusher + campaign needs to be made permanent.
