It works like feet and you have to have them equipped at the time the spell consuming the buff goes off.

so is that after or before the spell part of the macro?

You need to have it equipped while casting the spell you are trying to MB, until the spell completes. As a very simplified example macro:

/equipset 1 <FastCast
/ma "Tenebral Crush" <t><wait1>
/equipset 2 <wait5> <"Midcast", this is where you equip the basmak
/equipset 3 <Idle or TP set

thanks, so what do u do if u have a modifier set for that particular spell does it go with the midcast feet , or does it go before /ma "tenebral"

i tried it that way, but it didnt seem to make much of a difference even with casting burst affinity. not sure if its a small difference, or im doing something wrong, or SE didnt add flavor to savor.

make sure its equiped at the time you use the ABILITY, after that its not needed

np, same with diffusion feet that extends its duration, equip when you use the ability then don't worry about it

These are both wrong. Equipping burst affinity equipment (af3 feet, af+2/3 legs), or af2 feet (for diffusion) during the actual JAs does literally nothing. In both cases, the equipment needs to be worn during spell cast to work.
