Square Enix: Why does JP get a free trial but not NA anymore?

Why does NA (and maybe EU too) not have a free trial anymore? Free trial keys have been unavailable for many years now.

However looking at the japanese page, its quite possible they've run out too, their site says 2011 the stock was issued, so they might not have updated it

The JP page is not out of stock, it says "in stock" (在庫あり).

It was added in 2011, same as when it was added for EU/US users. doesn't mean its actually accessable, they would have updated the new stock on the japanese website if they had added any new stock numbers.
Since that stock is ment for japanese clients, perhaps alot of japanese don't waste their time with free trials and what remains is the exact same stock from 2011 (Which is designated for the japanese only and only decreased by a little from those who used it)

Just goes to show how much english players waste SEs time by only getting free trials rather than the actual account. I am curious how many actually make a account from the free trial when its over
