Hi, everyone!
I have some new information to share regarding Ambuscade!
In the next version update, we're planning to implement a system that we've received lots of feedback for - a system to upgrade armor!
We'll go over the details sometime next week, but we're thinking about a type of system where you gradually work towards it over time.
Stay tuned for more details!

Please don't be random augments.

I know it literally means nothing to post this.
DON'T DO IT. It's bad enough there's 50 pieces of armor, if you "slowly" upgrade them that's a ton more wasted inventory on an already stressed system. DO NOT DO IT THAT WAY.
Allowing NQ to become HQ, I'm ok with. But if you start +2ing Ambuscade gear or putting augments on it I swear to christ...

This.
Many casual players simply don't have the time to grind out HQ Ambuscade Armors and have to make-do with the NQs. It would be nice if there was a way to slowly turn NQ armors into HQ, but again as said, we really really REALLY don't need yet more Augmented Armors gunking up our inventories. We already have way too many.

As long as it's not something that you trade 1 piece constantly when you can use multiples of the same item to upgrade, much as how inconvenient it was to augment ambuscade capes were 1 trade at a time

Since the JPside posts on this make it sound to me like there is going to be a single item used for both upgrades, and the immediate somewhat panicky response from the community was "please no augs, we need to be able to store these on moogle", I'm really hoping they went with +2 versions over augs. Since there's an upgrade process, it sounds like it would be possible to get NQ, upgrade to HQ, then upgrade to +2, and if so, then it shouldn't take up any add'l inv space. If they went w/ the augment route tho... ~_~;;;

Whatever the new system is it's guaranteed to be geared against solo players like usual, so personally I'd rather have a way to enhance trusts instead.
Something like being able to apply the benefits of 2 extra cheers to our trusts.

Ok, for real, ambuscade is the easiest tier of (good) 119 content. It's a joke. Stop being a solo player and team the hell up.
6 spark scrubs can easily do VD v2 and N intense, There is literally zero reason to solo.

Unless you are going to move to my server and be available whenever I have time to play you should kindly zip it.

That's not even true. Why make up lies just because someone else has a different playstyle?

Uh, it's absolutely true.
You do -not- need REMA DD and Reisen max augs for lolambuscade. Sparks is more than sufficient.
You don't even need a Geo/Brd/Cor either.

No, a group in sparks gear cannot beat Normal v1 or VD v2. You are lying.

Merging the two smallest servers together (which I believe is Cerberus and Shiva) would be completely fine and not cause much congestion at all. The only time I could see some possible congestion would be say .. the day a new Ambuscade/Omen comes out and the JP population all run to it at the same time. At this point I would like to know if this is the only reason .. or if there's more to it.
Obviously they make money from player transfers, but some (like myself) would rather stop paying the subscription than pay extra money on top of what's already been paid the last thirteen+ years to find players on a "MMO". Can't class this game as a MMO at the moment .. even more so if you're a European on a small server who can't do weekends. I should not have to learn Japanese or stay up til 4-5am to do events with Americans. I usually end up doing the latter as we have no other choice.
And yes .. every time I see someone say "which server should I go to?" .. half of Asura jumps in and tells 'em to join their server. It happens all the time.

Actually, that's not true. Just depends on the job choice.
Though you DO need at least a GEO.

Vol2 VD needs some form of 119 at the very least, and they usually recommend sushi for melees.
I tried tanking that flan a few months ago with Cizin+1 (Skirmish 119s) with Ark Angel 119 sword and had a rough time of it. Do-able, but not exactly easy.
I couldn't imagine staying alive for more than 10 seconds with 117 gear, lol.

Okay, I read that as the base Ambuscade gear, not sparks, yeah, not possible.

Hello, everyone!
I'd like to share additional information concerning the forthcoming Ambuscade update (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/52413) that Matsui touched on.
Starting from the next version update, players will be able to store upgraded high-quality gear with the Porter Moogle!
Players will be able to use both Hallmarks and Gallantry when reforging existing equipment.
The usual Tarutaru will be handling the new upgrades. You'll be upgrading the gear by turning in the material and equipment at the same time!

Is this:
No more new gear, total marks used to buy upgrade materials now and trade (a small amount) in one trade to +2
-or-
Use Multiple single trades to upgrade...
If we have to trade that taru more single items a hundred times, someone is going to have to die.

JPside post that was translated from said it's multiple items per trade. We'll be getting the upgrade item from each of: Total Hallmarks, Purchase w/ Hallmarks, Purchase w/ Gallantry. No word on the quantities required for any upgrades, but from the way they seem to be emphasizing "gradually" upgrading, I'm expecting a considerable number of items per upgrade, perhaps limiting us to 1-2 HQ+1 pieces per month.

Yes, but it doesn't address whether they will be traded one by one by one by one or not.
Cause the way cape trades work is straight up garbage.

That directly addresses your concern. :? Unless my translation is way off, we can trade as many of the upgrade items as we want along with the armor in order to upgrade. Since it sounds like there is only a single upgrade path, they have no worries about us making "mistakes" when upgrading (which is their reasoning for why capes work like that.)

Hello, everyone!
In next month's Ambuscade, players will be able to obtain the Ambuscade +1 armor vouchers from the total hallmarks category!
We hope this will help you in your future endeavors!

So no more new sets. Paluwahn keeps getting left out. Amazing looking set, and one of the only sets to never get a reskin of any kind. Sad.
So we're going to spend the entire year +2ing Ambuscade gear.

And is rubbish, because they could have done like with Escha, and Delve, the first, single item for the stat, then the rest to upgrade, not to mention a way exists to change augments anyway.
