I'm having a problem with ffxi, when it's running in the background, it makes some applications freeze when I move the mouse.

E.G.
FFXI open in the background.
Open mobius final fantasy on steam.
Both run fine.
As soon as I move the mouse in mobius final fantasy the game freezes until I stop moving the mouse.
Close FFXI and it works fine even when moving the mouse.

Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it? Or why it's doing it?

Don;'t play 2 games at once, maybe? What's happening is that both games are reading your mouse movements and that's why you are getting the freeze as they sort things out.

Yep, as Teraniku mentioned - You shouldn't be running two games at once as there is a chance that you're going to get software conflicts and/or a big drain on system resources.

Unless you're running separate VM's and have a reasonably powerful PC.

Regardless what they say, I play multiple games with relative ease, the problem is playing Mobius: Final Fantasy and another game.

It's ffxi that's the problem as I've run ffxiv and mobius at the same time and I don't get this issue. It only happens with ffxi. Is there no way to disable the mouse in ffxi? Since I use a controller I don't actually need the mouse for it. Or even better, make it just not track it in the background?

Or.. Simply close FFXI?

Yep while waiting for my ambu queue I'll close ffxi, really helpful suggestion.

Don't think so only two options that can be changed on the mouse that I remember:

1. FINAL FANTASY CONFIG > Misc. > Enable hardware mouse cursor
2. Game config > Screen Edge Panning
