i would love to see a new class of weapon enter the ffxi realm... tonfa. it would be perfect for ninja or monk for those who wanted to do blunt damage on ninja without having to use those awkward clubs lol. but also to just have a change from the ordinary on ninja and monk and whatever other job we could put this on.
also, NUNCHUCKS! think about it =D

Outside of Rize of the zilart, has there ever been a new Weapon-class Added? (in RoTZ, Katana/GK were added IIRC).
New Weapons would be neat, tonfa kinda fit the idea of MNK/NIN. I've always kinda wanted a 2-handed weapon for THF... Call it a Pipe-dream, But Two-Sided Blade would be fun. =.=
But yeah, Its just an unrealistic pipedream :P, I don't think we'll ever see new Weapon types, Even though the possibilities are there.

If they added them they'd probably just be lumped in with like katanas the way sai were (sai are actually mass weapons not edged weapons.
Well, tonfa don't have to be a new weapon type necessarely. They can just be club-type exclusive to ninja and monks.

OMFG I would pee myself over tonfas!!!! That or maybe a longer range weapons (spear length) like chain whips.
I'll add to the wishing list Kusari-Gama! Love that weapon!
