san d'oriarank2 mission 1 wont advance

hey one of the guys in san -d r1-m1 wont let me talk to him because he is at a bottom of area I would not be able to get out of when I find guy inside cave he says don't bug me I'm busy instead of "I need my sword get it for me" is there a way you could place npc so I can talk to him or just click rank 2 mission 1 complete so I can do next rank mission

The only thing I can see on other websites is that having the quest "A Timely Visit" active can stop you getting the correct dialogue in this mission.
