As of recient it has come to my attention that SE, be it the cali office or the japan office, has some very faulty methods and support. I have reciently been banned on two accounts for supposed rmt activity. Now let me ask two things, of the players how many have also been banned for things you have not committed such as rmt? And also, how many people actually know their "method" to determining whether or not you are committing rmt activities? Well im going to give you a brief explaination of how they "determine" whether or not you are using RMT. I, along with many other players have a few accounts from which i use to mule, whether it be storage or to bazaar items. I reciently spent aproximately 3-5mil on different things on the auction house, but i never sell items on there. Well low and behold, Square-Enix feels that i am committing rmt and bans both my accounts, one of which i have had for over 4 years now. Square-Enix, and i have confirmed this through prior employees who were GM's for ffxi, bases their rmt bans off of ffxiah.com. Thats right people off of a website they are supposedly NOT AFFILIATED WITH. i was banned cause i used one account to sell items in a bazaar, in order to A: beat the ah fee for selling B: not have to sell items 7 at a time C: dont have to check my delivery box every day to make sure stuff sells. So because i used a smarter easier method, which btw i not in any way mentioned as violation of the user agreement, i was banned. This is an outrage and is horrible business if you ask me. do the math, 15$ a month x2 = 30$ x48 months = 1440$, plus 2 accounts worth of expansions is roughly 1600$. Now after spending all that DOES IT REALLY SEEM LIKE SOMEONE IS GOING TO BLOW 1600$ TO HAVE IT ALL WASTED BY RMT. I make my money in dyna from currency, selling items and npcing aby crour gear, who the hell even needs rmt anymore. And if you cant 100% prove someone did violate your user agreement, which is a form of CONTRACT, then SE is infact the one VIOLATING the contract and should therefore have to forfeit all the money the player has invested. Now i ask this, how many others have had such problems with SE and their support system?

Actually, In that contract Im relatively sure it has some form of the words "We can ban you for whatever we want. We dont need a reason"
Its a shitty clause, But its in there last i remember :|
As for your situation, It really sucks. Its a stupid unjust system. A few months ago, I AFK'd in Caedarva mire and went to bed, and i woke up in GM Jail. Apparently, While standing still afk not moving, I was jailed for "Speed Hacking". Much to my surprise i had to ask "How do i speed hack standing still while im sleeping?"
I was released, But its still confusing to this day.
Also, I Totally have a Mule i send all my Gil too and i buy things with it all the time. ISTG if i get banned for this I'm going to commit unspeakable acts of Horror of the likes that have never been seen on Earth. Especially being a customer for damn near 7 years.
They do their best, But their methods leave you... wanting.

I agree, Square-Enix needs to get their priorities straight. This is ridiculous how they continuously ban innocent players in the midst of REAL hackers that are within FFXI. I've also heard their method to see if someone is 'botting' is simply just to send them a /tell and ban them if they don't reply. This is another faulty method, what if the player doesn't want to talk to you? It's not against any violation and agreement to ignore a GM as well, but we can be penalized for it. To look through a 3rd PT RMT website to find FFXI rmt is completely ridiculous, especially when they are jumping to accusations and banning innocent people their methods clearly suck. PULL YOUR HEADS OUTTA YOUR ASSES SE!

If you do use your mule i suggest finding an alternate method of selling then, or you may end up like me banned for no reason. And their "ban if we want" bullcrap may be in there but it is deffinately faulty

Their methods are lacking, But i think they do their best. However i feel they should go about it a different way...
I mean, Banning someone for purchasing armor off the AH just because they're not selling enough on the AH...? I mean, They Invented the Bazaar System, and they have to be aware of places like Ru'Lude Mart and Rolanmart. If you truly were banned simply based on your AH Transaction History its very messed up.
Though, If you dispute it theres a good chance you'll get your Account back. So keep trying to call them. They know their System can make mistakes, So i think they do occasionally re-instate Accounts.

Actually, In that contract Im relatively sure it has some form of the words "We can ban you for whatever we want. We dont need a reason"They all say this on every game, forum, email, whatever. "We reserve the right to screw you at any time and for any reason." It's pretty standard.

So, update on the situation, its been over a week and a half since my two characters have been banned, and after multiple emails and calls along with chat support, all i have gotten is, "your request has been put into the system, and the investigation has yet to be started. now as i said before i have had these accounts for about 4 years now. and to top it all off, not only was i banned aproximately april 2-4th i was also billed for BOTH accounts, how far does it have to go before you hear a "we are sorry we fucked up, here is your stuff back and we hope you will continue service and forgive us."

Just another update, got an email today finally from SE. They said hey we got ur message, we cant help via email but call us we can help, so naturally i call, and low and behold guess what i get, "hi.... sorry to hear that.... we cant help you... there is no estimated time..... could take a few days could take a few months...." so translation "hi fuck you we arent going to help you so sit your happy ass there as a loyal 4 year customer and wait". Now i happen to know for a fact how the ban system works as more of it has been brought to light. The banning gm has to go over it, they have their own list they have to submit of bans, now heres my question. When a gm has a complaint like hey asshole u banned my stuff for no reason, doesnt SE think MAYBE there should be a maximum amount of time that it should be reviewed in, i mean really where is the customer support, does SE really even have any or is it just a crock of shit "clause" in their user agreement. This is horrible service and totally flawed business ethics. There will be calls to higher up in the chain soon if something does not get fixed. You have no proof, you know you have no proof, admit your mistake and as for the gm who banned me, sorry you had a bad day, but dont take it out on a paying customer you dont even know. Us consumers can find more information then you think about your "blanket" clauses and methods SE, you should really wash your dirty laundry more often if you are going to be shady

Sorry to hear you have been banned but I think your reasoning is slightly off. I have had several friends banned for similar reasons. You're right, they have unfairly banned you for RMT practices but they're not basing their information on FFXIAH. They're watching how much gil you trade between characters and how often. For some reason trading lots of gil back and forth is considered RMT. This is an especially dangerous assumption considering how dynamis mules work and I wish SE would do something about it or at least filter their auto-bot bans. It should be easy enough to tell legit players from RMT.

Truthfully their detection systems suck so GD bad and it feels like they really just do not care, I'm waiting for the day I'm walking around and suddently get banned for something stupid.
Maybe i sent 200k more gil than i should have to my mule.

i know the things they base it off, irregardless, all the methods are flawed and very very wrong. ther eis nothing in the user agreement that says i cant do that, if your gonna ban me how bout you look at the accounts, see where the toons sit what they do and all that, i know they can see what items we have and all that, hell you can tell what gear a person has if they register with ffxiah or the ls comunity site, either way this is a load of shit from SE and very poor management, but thats ok, higher echelons of the SEI business are already being contacted as i write this
