I hope it's better than the Steven Seagal one.

Every ama I've participated in has been answering only questions they want to answer and ending up with no new information than when you started. Guarantee they won't answer questions about server merges, going f2p, bigger content patches or anything that really matters.

Also how can they answer questions there but answer none on the official forums forever?

These guys are all working on many projects at once, not just FFXI. They can't just sit and answer questions on the forums and they might be legally obligated to not do that too.

One of the community reps from here will be in a conference call or something of the sort for the AMA. It's a lot easier to set aside an hour and a half for that than constantly send over questions daily and have the devs answer them.

They could ask the community team to sort 10 questions a month to be answered here, not asking for them to be on call 24/7

"We can't answer that at this time, but we will tell you about the long awaited CHEESE SANDWICH!!!"

We all know a few very important questions they will never answer no matter how many times we ask. And the things they will answer will be trivial nonsense the marketing guys will heavily filter, so what's the point.

Well when it comes to the important stuff, I believe they want to have a definate answer , and some of the harder questions are still just that: a question. "When will we get more server mergers?" This question they will only answer when they have a definate answer. "We are looking into it" would just not be acceptable to the community, so why even throw an answer like that out there?

Yawn we basically got a bunch of "We have no plans for that" nonsense.

They did say that server merges would happen only if the majority of people were in favor of them...although how they're going to find that out, I have no idea.
