Not sure why melee BLU is being left out in the cold when it comes to the abuscade sets.

Because BLU isn't able to wear the original set from salvage. They are going with same jobs so it isn't a surprise that BLU isn't able to wear the new version.

These are not upgraded salvage sets. They simply use the same model because the development team cannot create any more art for the game. Ambuscade has absolutely nothing to do with salvage.

That would be cool, but something tells me that would be a bit too good to be true.

Eh, this month's set has 210 acc and ranged acc on it, and is simultaneously tanky. Sulevia's managed great -DT and great acc. There is hope. I'm not advocating that a person should want to melee in mage-oriented gear but until we see the stats, nothing can be said for sure.
Anyway every job gets one set, otherwise several jobs should be on several sets.

Blu has no access to Merlinic, not that Amalric is terrible, but I'm hoping for super good magey stats and no melee, between Adhemar and Herculean, I feel like we've already got access to better melee gear all things considered.

Agreed, I've got all that gear.
However, I do understand OP's problem. Ambuscade is generally pretty good, but not the greatest, gear to help players gearing up. People would rather see the BLU be able to hit reliably more than nuke hard in most content.
Whatever the stats on this set, it'll be good for blu somehow.

Every job got one set. I wish sch would have been on whm FC body. I'm sure a lot of job wish to be on two-3 sets.

Yeah it was more for ease of gap closing between content. It's hard to gear up when you play solo most of the time.
I guess I'm just going to have to hope the mage set has melee stats on it too.

BLU will be on next months mage set. While these aren't directly reforged versions of the salvage armor, they are 100% following the jobs on the Salvage+1 sets. BLU has the most equippable gear in the entire game, is it really that bad you miss out on one or two major sets?

My goodness people, this person likely didn't realize how the sets were being organized, cut them a break, it's not unreasonable to see 4 months pass and no equipment that's available to your job and to be worried/annoyed if you don't realize they're basing the equipment on the old Salvage stuff, no need to bite his head off.
And after it was explained to him, he simply was hoping the next month's set would be stepping stone gear, much like the rest of ambuscade gear has been.
I think some folks forget that not everyone has 10 years of accumulated gear sets etc... It's totally not unreasonable for a new/returning player to hope that the BLU ambuscade set is something that actually helps them get into more content.
