Okay, so my problem is not that I don't have etched memories or w/e you get from the key item doohickeys. My problem is not being able to get the body and last part after that unlocked. This campaign isn't that effective because it doesn't solve the problem of why vagary isn't popular right now in the first place. How about some difficulty options? How about releasing the lock on empy armor creation temporarily for the campaign? how about making the campaign awesome? :p

The battles are not that hard, people have soloed them on SCH :) I think you should try a different strategy.

Unpopular content becomes more unpopular when people know that there's a campaign for it. They'll just wait.
Incursion? Hit it during the campaign.
Escha Dragons? I sure as heck will be hitting them during the campaign and I hope my lazy server does too.
Bayld farming? Beitetsu, etc? Most people wait for campaigns.
Exp? Campaign!
As to removing the requirement during campaign, that's silly. The reqs shouldn't change just because of a campaign (I have no real issue with them changing permanently).
edit: It's silly because you want to pass the buck on to someone else. You want your gear unlocked now, but don't mind the next guys having to wait.

I just do whatever flavor of the month SE strongly encourages. It gets me by.

This would help a lot of people that missed the Vagary boat! I really wish SE would make a KI-only fight that allows people to get the KI-only, even without any other drops, so they can dust off their old Abyssea gear into situationally usable macro slot gear.

To be honest I don't really know what they are thinking with Vagary, Emp119 gear isn't even worth the hassle at all. You can skip it all and get better gear from Escha solo / lowman.
If Emp+1 gear was among the best gear I could understand their reluctance to allow more people to get it but it's not at all, I also don't get why some players want to bar others from getting it easier too. For the same reason.
I'd love to unlock empy upgrades, even if only for my lolBRD... I agree that this vagary campaign is going to do precious little to get me my clears...
