I put some time into this in hopes of new avatars or possible changes to existing ones.
-Please note the avatars I chose I'm 100% sure they WILL NOT be implemented but were my choice for the type of idea I have.
http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/topics/backnumber/detail/060330_2.html

I wanted to keep it different...and wanted to place the avatar into situations a bit more.
The main goal was to keep the avatar out....make summoner more involved with whats going on in the battle and to give something a bit different.

To start off....

Only ONE Phoenix and Bahamut may be summoned in an alliance.

Or

Only Phoenix Or Bahamut may be peasant in one alliance.

Didn't read the post past "no more bp release." Only bad summoners do this. We don't need some kind of massive overhaul of SMN to make it "possible."

Also, we're never getting bahamut (SE basically flat out said so when he was put in the game) and Phoenix is busy being inside Tenzen's sword.

Its actually not a massive overhaul, I took two avatars and gave them different style of play. with a few abilities for the summoner to use, then just gave this post very fine detail..if your not going to read the post, don't comment on what you think its about.

Adding new avatars in the past was not an overhaul it change the way summoner used their avatars(choice of avatars)

hmm.. interesting ideas. I doubt we'll get the avatars, but it gives a new aspect to play. I like the idea of the avatars having some sort of AI with triggers for certain moves. Would be nice to see something like that added in general maybe--support moves, but not necessarily offensive moves though if it's bound to the TP levels (hate control issues and what not considering we have a means to give our avatars TP Regain, even outside of abyssea).

Yet to this day we have several avatars we "never" should have gotten. I thought we'd be pass the whole "SE said no to this in the past so forget about it" mentality after some of those avatar additions, and then the Earth shattering revelation of a level cap raise. If you hadn't noticed, they are much more willing to dance now.

Personally I hope they stick to the no Bahamut ideal. It'd have to be turned into stupid to work and I for one would prefer him staying a what if discussion piece than being cheapened as a avatar for sake of game balance. However, I would love to see Anima added. It seems like the perfect Abyssea related avatar.

Actually they also said the cap would remain 75. Guess you just can't trust them, eh?

PS. The idea sounds too advanced for SE developers. If they can't make your spirits function, why do you think they can program some kind of hybrid stuff involving AI?

Odin (Einherjar) has different actions during certain % and let's not even get started on AV......I don't see that any different. I personally don't see the "idea" being to advanced its just an "idea" to get the gears turning.

Avatars being kept out is already a viable tactic. It's my or your fault that some people are set in their ways.

Oh so you read the post? And skipped pieces of it...I also never stated that this is a problem.

As I said this is an "idea" Unfortunately you can't seem to understand this.

Oh so you read the post? And skipped pieces of it...I also never stated that this is a problem.I read it after, knowing you'd say that, and I stand by what I said.

The very sentence I originally quoted implies you think there is a problem (people using BP and releasing) with the job. Otherwise, you wouldn't have said that, and you wouldn't be suggesting something to create another "play style" (a phrase taken from your topic title).

Also, instead of fantasizing about getting bahamut and having him play the way you'd want, why not make a suggestion based on what we have already and/or what we actually stand a chance of getting? The more realistic it is, the more likely it could be implemented.

Everybody is titled to their own OP, you should never had implied/assume, because my thoughts and yours are not on the same page.

So when all avatars added from carby to Diablo. if it was BP release / keep your pet out melee BPR (W/E suited YOUR play style as a summoner.) I don't care if you BP release or not.

Odin/Alex is an oh shit button/zerg fight.

At the current time I don't see a prob, I see SE laying out smn as it is...letting users play how they see fit. I just posted an Idea of a new style of play. How people play smn is up to them because of its multi-job nature.

p.s. If liking your own post gives you some self satisfaction, then well....never mind;)

Everybody is titled to their own OP, you should never impliesThe language people use implies things. You can't just decide that some phrase or term doesn't imply this or that. What matters is what the reader sees and how they interpret it. If you had specified "I do not think this is a problem, just saying..." or similar, then there would have been no room for someone to get an implication from it. Clarity is important.

"Clarity is important." Thank you...that's the most constructive criticism you said to me all day!

I do believe SE has the ability to change their minds and make Bahamut into a summon similar to Odin. May not be the real Bahamut; could do some quest and get "Bahamut's shadow" or something. 2 hour him and BOOM "Mega Flare" All day ereyday; ahem sorry.

Well Just a really powerful aoe; maybe not an instant kill; but damage like the single target Odin does; BUT aoe.

Phoenix could be possible i like to believe; but only as a aoe "raise III" or even 4. "Grace of Phoenix" that be kinda cool. I like to think these 2 "ideal" summons would be only for 90+. Be weird to see level 1's 2 houring bunnies with Mega flare... geez...

The point of these threads is to give SE an Idea on what we like/want and in hopes something would come of it.
