View Full Version : Where do you go to exp now?
Came back since they offering free time again, but I have no idea where you are even suppose to exp now since the game seems so empty and there aren't any exp parties. Last time I played I finished the final rhapsodies last free month. But I still need a ton of merits points.

If you need merit points just kill things in Escha. I think I get over a merit per kill.

While that's a good starter, for someone that finished RoV exp comes fast enough as it is without F/GoV.
Especially during the EXP chain campaigns.(Keep in mind, F/GoV still helps a ton especially with some of the bonuses.)
Also from 40 until late 60's you're pretty safe to go to Escha Zi'Tah, probably beyond but I simply don't like the TP moves by some of the mobs there.
70~75 I usually go to good old Sky from where I go to Dangruf Wadi doing gobs and bunnies until 81~82 and Crabs and Opo Opo until early to mid 90's finishing off with Mandragora outside of Adoulin.
As for merits,
Escha or Reisenjima are the places to get them, as Ulth sais, you'll get about a merit per kill.

exp parties are not really a thing anymore outside of CP parties - do you have your trusts? Call those up and have fun with super fast exping ^^
If you really want to exp with others try doing a little shout in Jeuno or whatever before you head out - you might find a person or two who wants to join
To the people who said Escha or Reisenjima those mobs have too much evasion to even hit. I remember for the final missions you had to kill some for some drop and it took like 10 min just to kill one and that was with using sushi.
I really need merits for my stats since you can get 105 merits in stats now and what not.
Low level exp i don't need, so low level areas out of the question, most of the jobs I already have at 99 because of abyssea, but now abyssea seems pretty dead. Use to get 20 merits in 2 hours there.
Mobs in Reisenjima are much tougher than say Escha Zi'tah. They give about the same exp though but Reisenjima mobs giving much more cp. If you want easy fast exp I say go for the monkeys in Escha Zi'tah, there are RoE quests for both of them and they only pop jewelweed NMs which might as well not even be NMs.

Are job points even worth doing ? I saw the list for Paladin which is my main job and they all look terrible. A bunch of upgrades to stuff that isn't useful at all. That and they take forever to get, I think I have 5 or something and I been playing the game for awhile.
For pld it's worth up putting some effort into up until 100, that gets you enlight II which will give you a lot more accuracy than enlight I. Really I wouldn't worry too much about it. For sure do all the RoE things that boost the amount of cp you get. Those being the story line missions and reives. After that as long as you play on that job you will get maxed out eventually. On thf I'm maxed out completely on job points 2100 spent and 500/500 extra. Also the anniversary event is giving out cp rings that never run out so grab one of those for sure.
Edit: For those interested thf job points are definitely not worth grinding out. Best thing I got out of it was +6 triple attack and +6 crit damage, woo. Farm enough torques in Escha Ru'aun for people and you will get it anyway.

Supposedly you can XP at lower levels in Escha-Zitah but I haven't tried it myself. You'd have the added benefit of building up your Silt reserves as well.

You need to check the "gifts" section, even if all JP options were terrible you still need gifts since they basically allows you character to "grow" beyond level 99, stats wise. Though I suppose Aigis and DT are more important?
Getting JP as a PLD shouldn't be too hard since you should be able to get into an Apex party. Don't forget to do Lair, Colonization, Wildskeepers as well Missions RoE, they give 1-3% CP bonus each and they ALL stack.
Aptitude Mantle is good when CP'ing for further bonuses.
You can buy Capacity Rings with sparks for further bonuses.
Kupofried and Vana clock give CP bonus. Also Trizek ring. Check out other thread.
Mog Garden cheers also give CP bonus, though it may look a bit scary at first, it's actually a pretty automated process once you get the hang of it.

I think it really depends what you're fighting and what trusts are available to you. The Narakas and Panopts certainly were more difficult, but the Faazes are pretty popular to fight and at least seem easier than, for example, the Chappulis. Think you need in the neighborhood of 1050 accuracy to hit the Faazes consistently. In addition, some trusts like King of Hearts (don't know which you have, but just as an example) will use Distract to lower evasion. I believe Koru-Moru does as well, and he is now free via Records of Eminence quests. Shantotto II, who is currently available, strictly builds TP with magical attacks, so she never "misses". She also always attempts to close level 2 and level 3 skillchains and will subsequently double magic burst them. Iroha II will often perform double light skillschains. Couple that with trusts like Adelheid or Arciela II, they pretty much finish off enemies for you.
Only problem I perceive with Faazes is that I can really only identify two safe places to "camp" them if you're not comfortable running around mobs that aggro. The first is around the bridge at #2. And second is by the roadside graves a short walk from #3. On occasion, they will also kill your tank trust if they use Barreling Smash and your healer isn't quick about curing them.

By low level, I know you can exp there 40+ and you can go all the way to 99 there and it only requires about 3 camps. It does slow down around 91ish though, so I just usually move to mandies outside adoulin until 99

You can pretty much get EXP anywhere you can kill stuff. with trusts, you can kill even relatively strong enemies (compared to yourself) pretty well and you get a lot of exp, so just look around and see what feels best.

You should be doing at least enlight effect which is 210 JP to cap out. Palisade blockrate is another good one unless you have Ochain as that gives 20% more block rate when Palisade is up. If you ever need to use Intervene you get a 40% dmg boost from that which is a large increase and could be the difference between the mob dying or not. Sentinel gives you +20 to enmity during it which isn't all that bad. The rest are meh but you still do get gifts which give various things like acc/atk/def/JT increases. Drg JP are worse so...
Edit: Didn't notice there was a 2nd page where this was answered, oh well haha.

1-15 Area outside your hometown
15-30/35 Gusgen Mines (first skeletons right at the front later on go further in down stairs and kill flies etc)
30/35-49 Crawlers nest
49-90 Escha Zitah will very easily get you to 90. Change camp every 9-10 levels.
90-99 Ceizak Battlegrounds Mandys
With double xp campaign and 1-3 XP rings you can easily make 1-99 in some hours.
