Although Synergy is the main focus at the moment, I would like to see more additions to traditional synthesis, and hopefully some that will rectify the mistakes of yesteryear.
First of all, as an alchemist I have absolutely 0.0 chance of making a decent profit off any highlevel synth without either getting extremely lucky or spending entire days doing nothing but farming/crafting, at which point I'll be better off selling the raw materials. This has mostly to do with a total neglect from the developers (no decent new recipes for years) and a certain level of stupidity (potion drops causing medicated effect and certain battlefields spewing out potions for free).
Secondly, there are a lot of materials that have an extremely limited use, and when going update after update with said materials not getting new uses on top of new materials with only a single use being introduced that does cause some frustration.
Although getting a skill to 100 might be considered a goal in itself, most people do have a hope of being able to make some money out of it and not just blowing all their money on dead-end synthesis.
I propose the following measures:
1: Stop adding new materials for a while and rather reuse materials already in the game with limited use (Steel Scales come to mind). Of course adding new monster types should also be accompanied with new related materials, but stop doing stupid stuff like Mahogany Heartwood. For those that are not familiar with this, it's a piece of lumber that drops from a timed NM during rainy weather and has only a single use, used to make a Tracker's Bow, which is pretty much a useless crossbow compared to most other options around the same level.
2: Alchemy specific.
Add more and better Anima items.
Add recipes for recharging enchantment items.
Add recipes for general enchantments/augments that can be put on any weapon/armor, including, but hopefully not limited to, additional effects and melee and magic attack/accuracy bonuses.
Take away medicated effect on potion drops and add higher tier drops.
Last, and absolutely not least, make changes to 65+ in the future, and stop just adding low level synths that everyone can make and subsequntly break the market on in one week. Basically try to give us some level of control over our own markets.
