Reprint/make more merchandise

Ive suggested this like 2 times already on anotther forum but lets see if I get more support here...

Playing a Final Fantasy game is an unique experience, and one grow attached to some characters on those games and SE knows and make merchandise to go with it.

We have had action figures, statues, and a bunch of other things, but I think theres not enough or not personal enough FFXI merchandise.

To be more precise, Action figures and statues, I would love to get an official statue of my in game character and I think Im not the only one, and I even considered comision someone to make me a custom one, but I think the quality control and official nature of a SE product would be 1000 times better.

I got myself the set of tarutaru trade arts, minus de Arkagel taru as is quite dificult to get, and this month Im going to my aunt house to retrive the awesome Shadow Lord statue that FFXIclopedia team awared me for the bg contest, got my lil sis the chocobo plush and I found there was a chocobo and elvan statue but it was limited printing and obviously has sold out and nobody is even reselling it...(please reprint it :( )

I know, as I am a collector that its not an easy task, and maybe the production cost would be quite steep...

But since this is a suggestion thread Ill just toss some ideas...

Premium Price Point Statues
- Custom statues of in game characters, detailed and would defenitely justify the shadow lord statue price point (It would pain me to spend su much money but it will be woth it)

- Play arts sets of NPCs of Vanadiel
Theres this line of action figures called "play arts" of other FF games in the SE store, it would be very nice to see our beloved NPCs in that format and the price point is very afordable (I would get them all for sure)

- Trade arts
The other line in SE products in wich a set of tarutaru NPCs has already been printed, I would love to see a set for the 20 jobs even if my race/gender/face/job isnt in the set

- Head interchangeable sets
This I know would be a pain to produce and very costy and no way we could even get all the faces/races/jobs etc, but a set of a base body in RSE and interchangeable heads would be very nice, and if Im allowed to say, theres a certain Japanese toy company that specializes in sets of interchangeable parts *coughFIGMAcough* selling then a licence to produce the toys would be a win/win/win situation

This sounds like a lovely idea on paper, but when you think about it, not a practical market. Most of the highest quality figurines (especially the ones by Tony or Figma) can reach over 100+ $. Not entirely in the best price range for 2 countries currently suffering economic trouble right now. Alot of time and money would have to go into these in order to cater to a not very big market. It would probably be best to just scour ebay and hobby sites till you find what youre looking for.

I've always wondered this myself. I would love to have action figures of FFXI characters. Interchangeable armors would probably be a logistical nightmare though. Imagine having to create 7 different sets of the same armor piece for each race and gender (except for Taru). Then you have ship, store, and stock all those packages. I'd be happy getting just action figures in AF/Relic/Empyrean.

As far as a quality control standard goes, that's exactly what you would get from a mass produced product - Standard quality. A big complaint among TransFormers collectors (myself included) is that the paint jobs are sometimes really flat. Little details and the like often get passed up in exchange for production speed. Getting something custom made would be the way to go if you want a very detailed piece.

And I would pay $100 no questions asked for a figma of a hume F in RSE, but I think the gashapon aproach of the 20 jobs even if they have fixed race/gender/face/hair, and maybe an alternate recolor set with the other hair color and Relic insted of AF (since its the same model and diferent paintjob) and of course they dont have to be all 20 jobs in one printing, Ragnarok online had a similar set of gashapons of the classes of that game and realesed in sets of 6 figures at a time iirc.

Another idea What about an Artbook??? Its relatively cheeper than other merchandise, and you can make it as a contest (yeas, I would SOOO try to get in there), like the Megaman, Street Fighter, Darkstalkers tribute artbooks that Uddon crew are making. There a LOT of artwork to chose from: - Theres the art that you already have from past contest, granted, its not for a print resolution as the entries were like 1024x768 pxels, its not a very printer friendly format but they can be more than 1 per page to make them smaller and dont lose the details when resizing to a bigger resolution - You have an amazing in-house artist that could done a couple of full or splash pages - Theres the official artwork of box covers of diferent expansions and seriously the lattest FFXI ultimate collection, has some AMAZING artwork taht would be nice to see bigger - Amano sempai... nuf said... - A new contest, a bigger deadline and ask for artork in full 300dpi suited for printed (I would jump right away to the chance to be in there) Combine all of the above and you hav a very awesome tribute artbook. You can pull this off SE, please? (and.. can I be in there???) ****grrr sorry for wall of text, but the line breaks are not working......**

I would so buy some of this stuff!!!! I am not much of a, dare I say it, toy collector but i have always been a little miffed at the complete lack of FFXI stuff on the market. I collect patches and have made a few jackets and book-bags with them and would love to see some patches of the nations flags and stuff like that. Art books or storyline graphic novels could be really cool as I am a comic collector as well (if there are any of these thinks please let me know because I have yet to find them!).

This should definitely be done, and further more I'd like to see ffxiv figurines as well alot of the chars there look like xi anyway just with more customization.

There some company that makes your own WoW character or Xbox live avatar as a figure they are called figureprints.com, but I believe they cost $130. They could just contract come company like this that specializes in making figures, like Blizzard or MS did. To make in game characters.

Not necessarily true. As a matter of fact, assuming the person is a professional at their trade, I would expect a commissioned piece of art to be 1000 times better than what you'd get out of a factory from SE. But I guess there's always going to be that human factor at work. That factor that says, "I won't be happy because it's a 3rd pt art and not official ie 'FF logos stamped all over it' work"

But hey, you know, whatever. I'm not much different. But I do know if you want quality when it comes to statues for example, you pay several hundred - thousands of dollars for it. And not like 100-200 bucks because it was made in a factory to sell at retail(the darn things at SE probably cost a fraction of their sale price to make btw, like the SL statue)
