I sent one of my characters mail from my other characters and mail from 2 of them didn't arrive (stuff from login campaign).

So, I logged in to each of those characters and opened the deliver mail window and watched the item disappear as if sent. In other words, all of them disappeared as if they had been received. The items still didn't arrive.

The character receiving mail had items left in the inbox before hand and the number of items that arrived were the number of empty spaces, as if there is no queue for items to wait in when sent.

Finally, it occurred to me to look at the other characters bags and the missing items where there, even though I watched the item disappear when sent, as if collected.

I remember when I first started playing, I used to clear space in my bag by sending my other character 8 items, logging in and retrieving them, so that I could then send 8 more things and leave them in the outbox.

So, I wonder if this is new mailbox queue behavior, or if it is unexpected behavior.

My guess is you pressed Esc instead of enter so the sending was cancelled and the items automatically returned to your mules' inventory. You can easily differentiate it because when you send multiple items they are just greyed out one at a time and DO NOT disappear from the send box. But when you press Esc the items disappear instantly because they return to your inventory instead.

It's easy to get confused if you haven't played for a while.

PS > Items only disappear from your Send box until the recipient checks their Delivery and loads the items on it. Up to that point the sender can cancel the delivery at any time, hence the items being only greyed out when initially sent.

It was not that. Like this:

A sends item
Outbox: item 1 greyed out

B sends item
Outbox: item 2 greyed out

C logs in
Inbox: item 1 only

C logs out
A logs in
Outbox briefly shows item 1 before it disappears

A logs out
B logs in
Outbox briefly shows item 2 before it disappears

C logs in:
No item

C logs out
B logs in
item 2 is in inventory
