It seems to be pretty wide spread. I know for me its not a router/modem/file corruption issue

I had that a few times also posted on it in another few forums posts somewhere too :P When I mentioned that on my ls/Our LS that I was blocked or stuck into getting disconnected from the servers upon trying to go into the black wall downloading data between zones areas and eventually became fixed but for quite awhile back then I told you about it I do believe. :D you can ask me about it on the my linkshell too!

Oh! Also I found you and /welcome to the Final Fantasy forums Sterk! :O ;P

This happened to my main character as well.
Contacted a GM who told me to call technical support. Oh wait, they are closed. Guess I'm not playing tonight.

Same here. Husband's and my main characters were d/ced in Ra'Kaznar Inner Court along with 2 other Linkshell members. When trying to log back on get FFXI-3001 code. Two us have resolved the issue, the other two are still getting the error. My husband and I are on same internet connection, my issue was resolved his has not been. All other characters on the same accounts can be logged in with no issue.

Also getting this error.

I logged in, attempted to leave my room in Jeuno to my mog garden, and got booted during the 'Downloading data...' screen. Now when I try to log on it sits on the downloading screen for 2 or 3 minutes before giving me error FFXI-3001.

I too have this error. I was zoning into Dynamis Bastok to get a feel of the new changes and timed out while loading in. I have not been able to log back in for several hours now. :(

Having the issue as well and my ISP is Comcast. Any others?

I had the signal reset etc. Ordinarily to fix this issue you need to log in from a different ip or have a family/friend log into your character then log back out. Try not to log in from many different addresses though. Sadly this hasn't been working like it usually does and in my case it's been a reoccurring issue all day :/

I'm with Comcast as well and have tried every conceivable solution I could come up with. I can log into every other online game I own with nigh perfect latency and connection but for the past 6 hours I have been unable to get back in XI.
