Will players ever get to visit the lands of:
the Far East (home of the Yagudo Theomilitary's Mikado and Tenzen),
the Distant North with the frozen continent of Rhazowa,
the Distant South with the Mithra Motherland of Olzhirya, the remote island of Zhwa, (home of infamous Naja "Salaheem" Zhwan, Koja Zhwan and Haja Zhwan), Island of Tsahya, and Island of Garhada
the Distant West with Ulbuka (home of Gertrude, Brian and Roger, the exorcists after the Dark Lilies)?

doubt it as well. ffxi is old now. only ppl that seem to want to play it are loyal customers. its good that they cater to us, but the dev team has already exceeded what i expect from them

Tricky part is coming up with the ideas of these new areas, if they even bother to do them. Next is level difficulty: will it remain on the high end, or can any reasonable level take these new frontiers. One thing I wasn't too thrilled about, but still accepted, was that the new content tailored to the high end of levels. It wasn't until ppl found lower end safezones that the lowby levels were considered options. But I digress, at the VERY least, it DOES provide them some ideas for future zones. Just a matter of finding ways to get there.

Distant South and Far East first?

Yeah, I know this is highly unlikely to ever occur, but I figured that it wouldn't hurt to say something about it.

Distant South and Far East first?
Can't really agree with this. I wasn't a fan of the whole Aht Urhgan oriental theme (or Yagudo and anything Windurst related for that matter) and I'm thinking it would continue in the same direction in the far east. And mithras are annoying (incidentally Windurst related), both the NPC and the PC variety, so south wouldn't be my first choice either. I'd prefer the north, because snow is awesome. Only got a few hints and glimpses of the west, but I liked what I've seen this far.
Although currently the most existing story does revolve around the far east and south, so those would probably be the most likely to be implemented.
Did anyone else notice Quon's and Mindartia's resemblance to Europe?

The entire lore of FFXI has revolved around the Far East since day 1. Most of the items we receive originate in the far east, just about EVERY holiday event originates in the far east, and both Tenzen and Gessho, who play pretty big roles in CoP and ToAU, talk about their hometown in the far east in one way or another.
We have heard about the Far East for some time now. I would say it's about time to at least wrap up all the loose ends about the festivities and how the MHMU has such a strong hold on them - and the happenings of the Emptiness and the military corruption now that they've both been taken care of.. sort of.
Personally I'd like to see the West or the North. They're the least we've ever heard of, and I'm always interested to learn more.

Even if there's small likelyhood that it'll happen, at least we're making it known that we want some broadening.
While I am interested in Tenzen's homeland, I'd prefer to visit the North and West first; we don't get much Western theme stuff (recognizing that this is a Japanese game) - with CoP and when we got the buffalo gear, I thought we were gonna be going West finally...

Keep in mind also that the north is supposed to be the homeland of both the Orcs and the Gigas. If it is actually a beastmen-dominated continent, wouldn't that kinda make it IDEAL for high-level content? Just a thought...
