They're discarded development ideas. You'll probably see a more detailed report about it when the translation for the 23rd Freshly Picked comes out, but basically it's the following:

-A discarded entire chapter of Seekers of Adoulin which involved an explorable Tartaros area and a boss which was Hades fused with August's power. They had to discard the idea due to resource limitations. There's also a picture of an extra non-canon boss which is Balamor fused with Omega.

-Empyrean Armor was originally meant to be implemented before Abyssea. You can see the similarities of the designs with the final ones. There's also what the Masamune weapon originally looked like, but they wanted to go with something a bit different, so we got the final design we did.

-Early in development they threw around the idea of Galka eating two foods, but it was hard to think of a way to counter this advantage. One idea they thought of was making food only last half the time, but given that this could also be an advantage in some cases that idea was shot down.

Since we're bringing it up, can I request that the dev team give us some scans of that concept art? Would really love it. (Then again, they'll probably release it in another art book we won't get in the West)

why are they just sharing this stuff now though? dmost of that stuff seems like stuff that happened or was decided a long time ago. I certainly like the idea of other mounts though. That's a shame :D

If I am not mistaken, wasn't Leafallia, Mount Kamihr, and Reisenjima supposed to be expanded zones with a town or something? Also, Tartaros should have been doable and built the same idea like Reisenjima with a Sanctorium zone. I know it will take a handful of resources but if its still doable, I say push for it after April 2016 and lets see what happens.

Personally I love the idea of new mounts, the raptor is a good start. But we'll have to wait till February.

I wonder if we can get a horse, since even though they are extremely rare in the Final Fantasy XI world, they do exist.
