Regarding.. Mr. Matsui's plans for FINAL FANTASY XI

"I'd like to talk a little about our plans for FINAL FANTASY XI going forward on the development and management side of things."

I'm in North America and have been an avid player since 2004... your most recent news flash, warmed my heart... and made me shiver with delight, knowing that future plans continue to develop for this beloved game, that has been with me for practically 12 years (at least going into 2016)... :D

As long as the servers keep churning I will continue my subscription to this most awesome of life's experiences, not only being able to share with people all over the world, but the fantastic lore which has made this game, such a staple in today's market.

Well, it was never really going to end to begin with. They just ended the storyline. That's it. Plenty of room for other things like BCNMs, new gear, and other activities. Also, they could add scenarios to the game like Abyssea and others alike to keep people busy for a while with quests.

So that adventurers can always look forward to a fresh and ever-changing Vana'diel, we will be continuing monthly version updates past April. Look out for new updates every month focused on battle and story content.

I'm sooooo happy about this I squealed and cried loudly enough I woke my partner from sleep after reading it.
This is wonderful news!!!! My friends and i even talked about this, and their really excited for the continuing updates and content^^

I guess all of our complaints about ending things really did work^^

I wouldnt say pretty major updates are still planed.

I would say that updates are planed, some might have story (in the form of 1-2 quest to flesh out certain characters) like the vegitable quest line in adoulin. But assuming there are major updates involving story is a bit of a stretch.

You are more likely to get updates with 2-3 new High tier battle fields, or new SKNM battle fields than you are to get a new abyssea style zone.
